• Do not walk-in expecting a great superhero movie, because it’s not. It’s actually a great love story, I swear. A good, R-Rated love story of an anti-hero, something that attempts to move higher above Marvel’s regular clutter, and succeeds in doing so. It’s more in line with Honest Trailers, inverting the film’s strong points to ridicule it. As in one instance, Deadpool refers to its débutante director Tim Miller as “an overpaid idiot”, but if I was Marvel I’d give him some extra to make another NSFW one.

  • There are manipulative killers who can convince you to your own doom. There’s also the power of nature’s wrath in thunderstorms and raging rivers. But there are also ghastly looking kind souls who can help you in your journey. Friendship can replace hatred to add meaning to your life and make it a better one. It’s life-lessons like these that make this film all the more appealing.

  • Following Salman’s journey from Bajrangi to Bhaijaan, what really stays with you is the sweetness of the little girl’s companionship. And that alone makes this film worth it.

  • The first half of the film is laughable. There’s little character and story development, and too much focus on glorifying the heroism of the lead star. It’s the second-half where the film realises its true potential and is truly engaging. As most Telugu films, we are thrown into a flashback sequence where the director has picturised one hell of a war, complete with a whole new wildling army, the action and bloodshed contributing to multiple eyegasms. The fight sequences and stunts are very well choreographed with some really awe-inducing moments. The song and dance sequences only add to the drag, and could’ve been entirely scissored.

  • Uncertainty, emotion and subtle humor are the three important elements that make this film such a delight to watch.

  • This is one of the best Tamil films to have come of late. The little ones would find more joy in the two boys’ lives than they ever would with VFX-manufactured entertainment, more so because it’s relatable. If there’s one film you wish to watch with your children this weekend, let it be Kaakka Muttai. Rewatch it even, if time permits.

  • …this is the most cohesive Marvel movie till date. The Screenplay is just fantastic, every little loose end is tied up not only from this movie, but from the earlier ones and also sets up the Phase 3. I tried to find faults but I was having such a great time, they feel diminutive.

  • It is indeed an individual’s journey but in so many ways it is also about love and about losing the ones we love. I watched this film alone and realized that I shouldn’t have. Go book your tickets and watch it with people you love, I guarantee you won’t be disappointed.

  • or a long time now, we’ve seen how Fast and Furious films set up events for their next film during the final moments of a film, but not Furious 7. This movie puts brakes to its grumbling machine beasts and lets each character bid adieu to Paul Walker and his character in the movie, which is sweet.

  • …has its share of flaws, but could be watched for its sheer ambition and scope. If Dibakar does make a franchise of this, I’d be more than willing to put my money on it.
