• The tale of three losers with some nifty get-rich-quick-scheme is one of those films that defies logic. As long as you don’t look for sense in this one, you are safe.

  • At his best, Farhadi ensures that every twist of narrative is matched by a revelation of character — and something more: a startling, laserlike insight into the particular social and cultural environs that shaped these characters and their reasons for reacting the way they do. The world of The Salesman isn’t quite as intricately imagined as some of its predecessors, and the story’s sleuthing element, while absorbing, often feels more narratively expedient than germane.

  • Rai Bachchan is making a plea to all to be humane, however some of her voice is drowned as the makers are desperate to make it an edible film for the Bollywood movie fans who like a bit of dance and drama.

  • If you are expecting Hashmi to deliver a captain’s innings here, then you are looking up the wrong film. However, if you are in the mood for a salacious potboiler that buries the real problem then Azhar may work for you.

  • Joshi might be on a quest to explore different kinds of roles, but he comes across as a misfit in this horror film. Barring an interesting twist in the first half, the second half falls into a glorious mess.

  • Shroff does a stand-up job of executing hand-to-hand combat moves, but there’s little else to look forward to. If you are looking for an all brawn and no brains feature, then watch Baaghi. Otherwise, it is wise to duck this missile of a movie.

  • …you need to be patient with this film as it tends to inject unwanted romantic twists and drama into a film that could have been gripping even without those crutches.

  • Watch this if you are a die-hard fan of Khan, but don’t expect an unpredictable thriller. The key here is to manage your expectations and you will walk home smiling at having seen an engaging drama about a stupid fan and a faultless superstar.

  • Just like a marriage that has seen better days, this film was potent with promise but doesn’t cash in on its potential.

Reserve this for a one-time watch.

  • Watch this if you are an Abraham loyalist, otherwise it’s a good idea to duck this all-brawn-no-brains film.
