Piku’s innocent toilet humor may be at the receiving end of some flak from certain sections of audiences but most viewers will certainly appreciate the spirit in which it’s done. Piku will certainly prove to be a great experience for those looking for a nice family outing. But, if your sole aim is escapist entertainment then Piku would certainly leave you cold. Recommended!

While Gabbar is Back is rife with theatrically orchestrated chaos and carnage, there is a brilliantly devised adduction sequence with hundreds of masked men that’s a real treat to watch. Despite the flaws and gimmicks, ‘Gabbar is Back’ simultaneously entertains and makes us think. Recommended!

Although, it’s not meant for casual viewing, Court has something to offer to everyone. The students of cinema most definitely need to study it. Court is a film that needs to be watched!

Morchhale’s film can be deemed brilliant on both the technical and emotional fronts, especially given the budget constraints that one often associates with an indie feature film.

The movie has some pacing issues and it occasionally tries to purposefully misdirect the viewer but despite the flaws it proves to be quite an enthralling experience. While the movie is bound to disappoint the hardcore Byomkesh Bakshi enthusiasts, it has all the elements to satisfy the masses and the classes alike. If the movie does well at the box office (and it most certainly will), a sequel may be just around the corner . Highly recommended!

NH10 doesn’t come across as a crowd puller but it will certainly appeal to the sophisticated audiences. The movie is recommended for serious viewers and for those casual viewers who aren’t easily turned off by violence.

Badlapur is part psychological thriller, part character study that entertains while simultaneously making the viewer think. While the movie has several spine-chilling sequences (some harking back to the works of Alfred Hitchcock), there are also some light moments that provide some respite from the ever brewing tension.

In the context of contemporary Hindi cinema, Shamitabh does come across as a breath of fresh air, but it certainly isn’t tailor-made for casual viewers on the lookout for porcornish entertainment. However, if you truly love cinema or are a diehard fan of Amitabh Bachchan, then Shamitabh is not a film that you can afford to miss!

…can best be described as a brutal but honest attempt on the part of its makers to capture on the celluloid the chaos associated with the Bhopal gas tragedy. It’s not great cinema but it’s definitely thought-provoking.

The movie’s multilayered narrative makes a second viewing essential for serious viewers. While it would be a bit early to call it Nolan’s best film till date, Interstellar is certainly a worthy addition to his decorated body of work. A must watch!
