• Film : Mubarkan
Cast : Arjun Kapoor, Anil Kapoor, Ileana D’cruze, Athiya Shetty
    Directed by : Aneez Bazmi
    Rating : 6/10
Aneez Bazmi has given us several comedy films, Welcome being his best so far, however 2nd installment of Welcome didn’t do well at the box office. And now he is back with Mubarkan. Murbakan also follows the same theme like Aneez’s predecessors.
Mubarkan is the story of Karan and Charan , both the characters played by Arjun Kapoor. One is brought up in Chandigarh while other in London. They are expected to marry as per their guardian’s wishes.
But they are already in love with Nafisa (Neha Sharma) and Sweety (Ileana D’Cruze). Due to some circumstances charan gets engaged to a girl – Binkal (Athiya Shetty) in London. And now here confusion starts which raises high when Kartar Singh ( Anil Kapoor) enters.
But the aim of all this confusion must be to make audiences laugh. So does it make you laugh ? Does it entertain ? The answer is Yes, but partly. Film has some moments that make you laugh. But like I said – ‘Some’. And those moments, unfortunately are not able to keep you glued to your seats.
Plot is flawed and that’s the main problem.
The best thing about Mubarkan is – Anil Kapoor. Kudos to him. What an actor ! He has nailed it like always. The most of the fun moments (though few are there) belong to him.
Arjun Kapoor in double role is Good. Ileana looks sweet and has done a fine job. Athiya and Neha Sharma both have limited scenes and they have done a good job.
Positives : Performances ( especially Anil Kapoor), Some Funny scenes , Music
Negatives : Story, Screenplay is boring and doesn’t make sense, Lack of fun moments , Editing (Especially post interval)
    Rating Analysis :
    Story / Screenplay : 2
    Editing : 2
    Performances :3
    Music : 3
    Direction: 2.5
    Final Impact : 2.5/5
    Why to Watch ?
If you need a break from your routine and want to enjoy film that doesn’t need to apply logic , go for Mubarkan.
On the Whole, MUBARKAN is a partly entertainer. Its Not Good but definitely an above average fare. Leave your brains at home and you may enjoy this film.
As far as Box Office parameters are concerned , I’m highly skeptical of its commercial Success. I am going with 2 and a half star for Anees Bazmi’s Mubarkan.
