There’s not a lot of praise one can heap on ‘Kill Dil’ except to say that it’s not an unwatchable film. The first hour goes by briskly, and you’ll even find yourself smiling along. If that’s enough for you, give it a shot. I’m going with two stars for the film, and additional half star for Ranveer Singh’s terrific performance, which makes it two-and-a-half out of five for ‘Kill Dil’.

This has steadily and sadly become a Yashraj trademark, the studio that has given Hindi cinema so many of its beloved landmarks, this cannibalizing bits and pieces of its own films without being able to give us a story we can believe in. It’s one thing to have an element or two which is exaggerated, it’s completely another to get through a full film with such few credible moments.

Kil Dil doesn’t have weight or enduring value. But while it lasts, Shaad makes sure you’re having a good time.

The predictable and cliched closing of the story notwithstanding, the film might still be worth a watch, simply for Govinda and Ranveer. Add to that the fun-filled dialogues and you will most likely enjoy the experience.

‘Kill/Dil’ flirts with the idea of having rotten men as its lead pair. It even seems to enjoy their bloody bonhomie. But it chickens out. What a shame! And what a waste! Imagine if Yash Chopra had chickened out and made Vijay sign up to become an LIC agent?

Kill Dil has random songs, birdbrained logic and a romance that’s about as exciting as toothpaste…

Watch Kill Dil if you have plenty of time to kill. It is unlikely to deliver much joy to your dil, though.

There is enough pizzazz to divert you from the cliched plot. It is certainly a step up from Shaad’s last disastrous outing, Jhoom Barabar Jhoom (2007). And what makes this film watchable is the effortless chemistry between Ranveer and Ali. Their poker-faced humour, jibes at one another and ability to break into a song are impressive. Supported by some corny dialogues — like pigs must always eat shit and never attempt to taste gulkand (a sweet preserve of rose petals used in paan) – they draw laughs as quickly as they draw out their weapons.

With style trumping over substance, Kill Dil fails to win over our hearts. We wish we got a better story line and more of Govinda!

Even after all the little flaws Kill Dil is a good watch! Two hours of pure entertainment.

Kill Dil is not a bad film, it’s a badly made film. With such sincere actors, the film lacks a distinct soul, killing it’s intensity scene by scene, frame by frame by adding frills. Despite good performances by Ranveer and Govinda, the film is a victim of bad writing more than a bad story, and wobbly direction which couldn’t guide the ship right. I am going with 2 stars. Had the climax been a little meatier, I wouldn’t hold the film in such low opinion.

With its dialogues and incessant bullets and songs, Kill Dil tries to make a lot of noise. But the film’s plain vanilla with little drama/thrill to keep you hooked.

KILL DIL is a film, which could have been worth watching, had it been handled and directed properly. This film’s definitely worth a miss.

Initially the film opens on a decent note but very quickly goes downhill and never recovers. The plot has neither any logic nor sense or conviction. Even though Govinda tries his vintage act, the character of Bhaiyyaji is the weakest of them all. Not that the others are any better.

There is dil, dosti, paisa and pyaar in this tale, but not a single moment of emotional connect that you can establish with the story or the characters.

End of the day, this is a classic case of could-have-been. KillDil had the potential. Sadly, the director could find singularity in his vision. It’ll be a surprise if anyone remembers this movie in the days to come.

One thing is sure; it will kill your dil and dimaag. Enter at your own risk.

…while one understands the logic of keeping overdrawn emotions in check, a little more elaborate climax would have given a better kick. Watch it for the pleasure of watching two goofballs, Ranveer Singh and Govinda, together.

I have to admit Kill/Dil is a smaller disaster than Gunday.Ranveer who played one of the two buddies in the earlier films as well, is far more entertaining here. He’s still way over the top.But here he is hammy in a pleasant way. Trouble starts and the killings for him end, when Ranveer’s character Dev falls in love with the neighbourhood femme fatale, a weirdly freelancing heiress played by the forciblyglammed-up Parineeti Chopra, who seems to have her hands in every single pie that she can lay her manicured fingers on.

With so much going against Ali’s chaotic take on romance and guns, we think it is best left unwatched.

Kill/Dil is terrible in places, but unfortunately it doesn’t come down to the unintentionally funny, disaster zone like Shaad Ali’s previous effort, Jhoom Barabar Jhoom.

You may watch Kill Dil only if you are a fan of any of the actors. I would say, let it pass.

The title is borrowed from Quentin Tarantino’s Kill Bill. That homage somewhat plays out in the background score sometimes. I suspect Indian filmmakers’ intense love for Tarantino comes from their shared fondness for kitsch. In that sense you’re unlikely to get a finer kitsch-di than this.

By Bollywood standards, the movie has enough fodder to hook and book you to your seats for two hours. Three stars for `Kill Dil`! And if you are a movie-buff then go home humming `kakakakaka ..Kill Kill….dadada Dill Dil…`!

If you enjoy killer dialogues and silly jokes, Kill/Dil is the perfect movie for the weekend. Otherwise, you can give this one a miss.

I went in with too much expectations came out disappointed. So if you’re planning to watch this film at all then don’t expect anything and maybe you won’t regret walking into the theater!

Kill/Dil is an amalgam of Hindi film clichés, the most obvious being the orphans, set to uninspired gimmicks. A waste of a Govinda comeback.

For the cast, and a few interesting moments, and the stylistic treatment (that often goes overboard), this one’s an ok watch. That’s if you’re up for a cliched story packaged a little differently.

Story lines like Kill Dil had started losing their charm 30+ years ago. I am still not able to get over the fact that Shaad Ali and team, couldn’t add one new angle to make it look like a product for and by the next generation.

Kill/Dil is eventually the kind of lightweight effort watchable not for its content, but because you see the makers enjoying themselves. We admire the way they laugh, not the joke they laugh at. That said, more is expected of director Shaadi Ali (Saathiya), and perhaps this is just the rusty beginning of his comeback.

KILL/DIL is a masala film which will bring back memories of cinema of 90s. Foreseeable but worth a watch.

Kill Dil doesn’t offer any riveting twists, but you don’t feel like putting a bullet to your head at the end of it either. Watch it if you love Singh and his nervous energy.

Now, don’t be fooled by its deja-vu premise. Kill Dil has innovation with its altered screenplay and execution. Yes, the logics take a back seat here but not to an extent that spoils the flow. The director mostly uses the dialogues and his character, the blend of which helps in making this movie entertaining.

There are a couple of funny one liners in the film Kill Dil and it’s a good mix of humour, action, romance and drama.

After the three-hour torture, I have a better name for the film, KILL ME!!!!!!
