The only afternote I, as an audience for 'Dev. D' could have is that it is nothing like Hindi cinema ever witnessed everytime. This makes it very, very bold, and very, very, very effective as a feature, even if not as a story.
Dev. D is a revolutionary film for Indian cinema. It was dark, bold, artistic and it still figured out its existence. This film was a true arthouse experience. There is Devdas of Sharat Chandra Chattopadhyay, but it's not the same story. This makes you fall in love with the characters, especially Leni, the Kalki Koechlin version of Chandramukhi.0October 18, 19
