Gatta Kusthi 2

This old-school battle of the sexes is funny, flawed, and familiar.

While the premise does have potential, the film that we get rarely lives up to it.

The film's lopsided take on gender politics and comedy that never lands make it a sequel that could have been done away with.

The Vishnu Vishal-Aishwarya Lekshmi starrer swaps actual sports for outdated patriarchal lectures and tone-deaf humour.

Gatta Kusthi 2 not only betters its predecessor but also comes close — just about — to redeeming the problems in the first film. However, the last thirty minutes of Gatta Kusthi 2 almost upend all the good it had done till then, as the director resorts to brain-numbingly regressive tropes and cop-out climactic choices.
