Hari Prasad and his son Om are separated because of ideological differences. When Hari suffers a heart attack one morning and announces that he is going to die in six days, his wish to take his last breath at Kashi (Varanasi) with his elder son Om sets them on a destined journey to heal their dysfunctional relationship.
Critic Consensus
Critical reception for Om Ka Hari is mixed to lukewarm, with most scores clustering in the average range. Critics most commonly praised the performances, particularly those of Raghubir Yadav and Anshuman Jha, and appreciated the film's quieter, more naturalistic observations about family dynamics and reconciliation. However, a recurring criticism is that the six-days-to-live premise is underutilized, with reviewers noting the central conflict feels underdeveloped, the pacing flat, and the emotional stakes less urgent than the setup promises. One dissenting voice found the film exhausting and repetitive, arguing it mistakes familiarity for depth.

Updated“Om Ka Hari does not reinvent the Indian family drama, and its six-days-to-live premise could have been used to dig much deeper into the relationship at its centre. But it does understand something quietly profound about fathers and sons: love can survive years of criticism, disappointment and silence.”Read full review ↗
“Om Ka Hari does not completely reinvent the family drama, but it succeeds when it focuses on its central father-son relationship. The performances, emotional moments and natural chemistry between Anshuman Jha and Raghubir Yadav keep the film engaging.”Read full review ↗
“With its six-days-to-live premise, Om Ka Hari had the scope to explore the father-son relationship with far greater emotional depth and urgency. But instead of a major conflict that convincingly explains their estrangement, their differences mostly amount to minor arguments and not seeing eye to eye. Still, its moments, performances and observations on family relationships make it a decent one-time watch.”Read full review ↗
“Om Ka Hari doesn't reinvent the father-son film. Its strength lies instead in recognising that families rarely resolve years of hurt through one dramatic conversation. Sometimes reconciliation begins simply with spending time together, listening a little more carefully and accepting that love can look very different to different people.”Read full review ↗
“Even though the film deals with a 'been there, seen that' genre, the film hardly remains with you once it ends. You can easily skip the film and relish that time enjoying Ganeshotsav's modaks.”Read full review ↗
“Despite heartfelt moments and strong performances by Raghubir Yadav and Soni Razdan, the weak conflict and flat pacing make it forgettable.”Read full review ↗
“Om Ka Hari wants to be a film about reconciliation, mortality and the things families leave unsaid. Instead, it becomes an exhausting exercise in watching an older man's resentment occupy almost every inch of the screen. The problem is that Om Ka Hari keeps mistaking familiarity for depth.”Read full review ↗
“While the message is certainly strong, the way it is presented feels tedious and overwhelming, with repetition that brings monotony. Despite its strong messaging, Om Ka Hari falls short of the expectations that the film begins with.”Read full review ↗
