Bollywood has drastically changed over the past few years. And is producing films of different genres. Some are Action Dramas, some are Historical Dramas and some are imbued with love and music. ‘Sanam Re’ directed by Divya Khosla Kumar is also one of the films which has melody crowned with love attached with an absurd storyline. Divya would perceive shortly from the reviews that dousing the appetite with an overdose of love partially annihilates the film causing indigestion. One plus point she has with her film is the mellifluous music, the dream light backgrounds and appearances. You can’t expect any logic from the plot. It lacks originality and completeness.
The story is about a man Akash (Pulkit Samrat), Shruti (Yami Gautam) and Mrs.Pablo (Urvashi Rautela). Mrs Pablo loves Akash who loves Shruti. And a love triangle is created which leads to bizarre situation.
Divya has done a mistake by mixing love with some wacky comedy scenes in a romantic film. She has a cameo appearance in a song which is needlessly egregious to watch when the film starts. Her direction and cameo in the film does not gratify
.Pulkit Samrat and Yami Gautam are both progressive actors. And have a charm that can inspire admiration in other people. Their love story and chemistry drags a lot and is of a waspish type. But Urvashi Rautela, the most natty and angelic Bollywood girl presents a generous impact on viewers. Much wasn’t expected of her. She has few scenes. But makes her lively presence felt by her nubile statistics and appearances. More than acting she is particularly nifty in her appearances and tepid in some of her scenes.
The film has to have a good music as it is a T-Series film. Lyricists, Singers and Musicians have created such a music that it can’t be criticized. Special mentions to the title song and the people who worked beyond it.
Like ‘Yaariyan’, ‘Sanam Re’ is also partially baked. What’s bad in the film is its woozy storyline which is extensively very well supplied with love. Divya glamorized the film in many portions. And failed to balance it well. But also enthrals by virtuous songs and some appreciating dialogues. The film is a treat for fluid minds. I’m going with 3 stars for ‘Sanam Re’ and extra two for its music and sceneries which appear aesthetic. It is a perfect Valentine’s release.2February 13, 16
