'Udaan' is a very genuine underdog fight for flight. There is sincere display of conviction by the director Vikramaditya Motawane whose execution debut goes on with a smooth, languid pace. But as the climax gradually unfolds and discloses, it certainly wins your heart. Rajat Barmecha is amazing, as is the other starcast. The film is again a worthy one which acknowledges the script rather than the lens which executes it. It is a special film on the note that it celebrates poetry as a dream, a motif to break free: from the clutches of the other kind dreams, and the cinematic cliches. It has a special kind of high: which touches upon the mellow consistencies rapidly, wothout being dizzy.
