• The runtime feels overly long while incoherence looms large due to O’Connor’s over zealous efforts to contextualize. But for the actors and their heavy-duty efforts this would be just another jaded wearisome actioner!

  • Frankly speaking, one would have to be an amnesiac to rate this film even as a thoughtful thriller!

  • The story line is interesting (even though it’s beyond believable) and as animation comedies go, it’s got enough moments written in to make things entertaining for a bit. It’s central conceit seems inspired by a randomness that is all too wacky. It’s a strangely emotive world that balances fantasy with reality with animation technique that is quite kid friendly in its assay. This may not be wholesome entertainment at it’s best but it’s certainly cute enough to keep the little ones charmed.

  • This film doesn’t even amuse leave alone entertain. There can be little return (even if hypothesized) on that!

  • The CGI is blotchy, visual effects are terribly unconvincing, the humor is potty and the gimmickry is knotty- so there’s really very little relief for adults and maybe just a smidgen of pet antics that might interest children.

  • The onus is on the stunts (the seen before variety) rather than smarts. Exotic locales and Jessica Alba prettify the experience but routine action, jaded stunt choreography, an irritating background score and typically generic plotting weigh it down woefully!

  • Todd Phillips attempt is to give this film a ‘Hangover’ sort of burlesque and he succeeds partly- unfortunately that kind of treatment takes away from the purity of the true story. And that’s a pity really.

  • There’s really nothing new in it other than what modern technology can bring. The story’s eventual outcome – a lesson in repentance, is lost in the visual bombast designed in overkill.

  • This is not meant to be serious stuff. It’s a harmless, reasonably enjoyable outing if you’re not expecting too much from it!

  • This is a messy mash-up that has neither style nor real substance to make it exciting enough. For sure this is nowhere near as cool or nihilistically humorous as ‘Deadpool.’
