Clearly, third time is a charm for Thor as ‘Ragnarok’ is the best film on the Asgardian till date, and another entry from Marvel you simply cannot miss!

‘Newton’ has dared to take on an issue that our vast majority turns a blind eye to, and slaps us out of our blissful ignorance. Amidst laughing, it’ll leave you thinking, which – and we need to be reminded of this – is what good cinema should do. Both your funny bone and your grey cells will thank you for watching it.

As long as you don’t expect it to be a genre-defying blockbuster, get comfortable and enjoy ‘The Golden Circle’ for what it’s worth. If nothing else, check it out for Elton John playing an extremely colorful version of himself – and that’s saying something!

‘American Assassin’ is no different from what we’ve seen before in the likes of ‘John Wick’ and ‘Jason Bourne’, but at least it’s captivating enough to keep you entertained throughout its runtime. You’d probably suffer from a serious case of deja vu through it, but if you need a fix of nail-biting action, you’ll definitely get your money’s worth.

It’s unpredictable, with some unforeseen twists and turns but with its heart intact. While the last act feels a bit drawn out, especially with the rushed introduction of a particular character, the majority of the film plays out smoothly and there’s hardly a lull in the quirky humor and suspense. Even if it doesn’t raise the stakes of the genre, there’s enough potential to turn this funny and smartly written caper into another entertaining Soderbergh franchise.

What works in the film’s favour is that it acts not only as a strong entry by itself but also as a build-up to the inevitable and now essential sequel. Rest assured – King’s nightmare is alive, freaky and endearing at the same time. If you’re a horror fan, don’t miss ‘It’!

‘Shubh Mangal Saavdhan’ keeps you entertained long enough to make it worth a watch.

If only it was a tighter story – ‘Hitman’s Bodyguard’ would be a crisper and much better film. But don’t let that detract you from checking this out and enjoying it for what it is – a forgettable yet fun watch at the theatre.

‘Atomic Blonde’ is just enough fun. But it tries so hard to be mysterious and unpredictable that it ends up being more chaotic than it deserves to be. Truly a missed opportunity that leaves you more baffled than awestruck.

The visual sugar-high never killed anyone, and as far as escapist blockbusters go, Valerian and The City of A Thousand Planets is as imaginative and spectacular as they come. Just keep your mind switched off and put your 3D glasses on.
