Prahaar

2026 · Rediff · Oct 2026

Avinash Arun's Prahaar: The Untold Story of Ujjwal Nikam emerges as a rare honest film in contemporary Bollywood, skillfully navigating the sensitive narrative of the 26/11 Mumbai terror attacks and the prosecution of Ajmal Kasab without succumbing to propaganda. What the director does succeed in is bringing out an honest film about a tragic episode in a country's living memory, without casting aspersions or making allusions that are now seen as inimical to national integrity and communal harmony.

Chhaava

Chhaava

2025 · Rediff · Feb 2025

Chhaava deserves two stars for the historically half-baked film that it is, but four stars just for its attempt on making a film on Sambhaji. While Chhaava is a historically half-baked film, one has to give a big thumbs-up to the makers for attempting to make Sambhaji a national icon.
