• It’s a disappointment, no question about it, from a team capable of so much more.

  • Mom is a far from perfect film, but it’s never boring. Sridevi’s terrific turn makes up for many of the script problems. I’m going with two-and-a-half out of five.

  • It’s light and breezy and so much fun.

  • This is a film that raises the bar for romantic comedies hereon. It’s a film I know I’m going to watch again soon, to savor the company of its characters. Don’t miss The Big Sick. It’s a real gem.

  • It’s a crushing disappointment on all counts…

  • …the laughs are aplenty, including cheeky nods to “Finding Nemo”, “Star Wars”, and a “Pink Panther”-inspired closing credits sequence. The secret sauce of the film remains grumpy Gru (voiced by Steve Carell) and his permanent state of impatience and irritation, which powers the franchise.

  • Cars 3 is no masterpiece, but it’s worth your time.

  • This is the kind of movie that film critics must endure so you don’t have to.

  • Wonder Woman doesn’t reinvent the wheel, but it’s a hugely entertaining film that packages the familiar with a lot of flairs.

  • A Death in the Gunj benefits from Konkona Sen Sharma’s perceptive, assured direction. It’s one of the best films of the year, and one that you’ll find hard to shake off in a hurry. I’m going with four out of five and a strong recommendation not to miss it.
