• There is a fair bit of on field action, which primarily portrays the soldiers in good light and most of the local residents are either double crossing agents or bad guys. Perhaps that is what Kyle came across during his encounters. Much like what we saw in The Hurt Locker, being in the middle of the action almost becomes an obsession. While it celebrates the heroics of a soldier on the duty, it also laments about war and its final outcome.

  • With top class production values and an impressive music score, the film hits the right notes on the technical front. When it comes to acting, it excels. Felicity Jones as the woman who stands by his side is first rate. But ultimately, this film belongs to Eddie Redmayne who has delivered an extraordinary performance. The physical transformation, right from the way he slumps in the chair, moves his hands, it is all very impressive.

  • Liam Neeson is eminently likable in whatever he does and being a top actor that he is, he even pulls off an action film like this. But otherwise Taken 3 has very little going in its favor. In a way am glad that “It ends here”

  • Just about everything about Tevar is outdated and above everything else, it is the story. A good guy saving the heroine who is on the run from goons is so passé making you wonder why on earth this film was made in the first place. It is a big budget production and considerable money has been blown on lavish décor. In fact the electricity used to light up the sets itself could easily finance a couple of Indie films.

  • It is in the last and final lap that the film stumbles a bit – after all, there is only so much of prisoners camp incidents that you can take, not because of the violence but because it gets routine. Jolie perhaps wanted to highlight the fact the how in-human mortals become during war and the point is well taken.

  • Angel of Death has the occasional spark but for many parts it is just dull. At no point is enough interested evoked in the characters, including the ghost. Luckily, the director has restrained himself from overdoing the standard tropes seen in horror films. Relative newcomer Phoebe Fox as the leading lady has put up a good show but otherwise this ghost business is average fare.

  • Ugly is the work of a director who is on the top of his game.

  • PK is far from being flawless but it remains a must watch film for those who believe in god, and also for those who don’t.

  • The audiences may or may not but Rajnikanth surely deserves better. But meanwhile, if you are his fan, Lingaa is a wet dream.

  • Compared to The Lord of the Rings, The Hobbit trilogy is a slight letdown primarily because it has not been sustainable from a storytelling point of view. Jackson has lived upto the challenge of using superior special effects as a creative tool.
