Exodus is a watchable film for its scale and visual grandeur in spite of the 3D which doesn’t add any value.

People slap each other for no particular reason and women are punched in the face and if there was a race for pregnant women to run in high heels, Yami Gautam would win it hands down. Prabhudheva ji also tries to be a Tarantino and Roberto Rodriguez in the action scenes and needless to say, he fails.

Initially the film opens on a decent note but very quickly goes downhill and never recovers. The plot has neither any logic nor sense or conviction. Even though Govinda tries his vintage act, the character of Bhaiyyaji is the weakest of them all. Not that the others are any better.

A reflection of the present times when television and their ‘breaking news’ have become a part and parcel of our lives, Nightcrawler is an excellent study about a man who wants to deliver at all costs. What I particularly liked about the screenplay is the fact that it is as much of a character study of the man in question as it is a commentary on today’s world.

Director Abhishek Sharma gave is the entertaining Tere Bin Laden, but sadly The Shaukeens is nowhere close to it. Inspired by Basu Chatterjee’s Shaukeen (1982) this film loses steam very quickly. The rehashed plot where Akshay Kumar plays himself is funny in parts but eventually ends up going nowhere.

Big Hero 6 marks Disney’s foray as far as super hero animation films are concerned. Inspired by the super hero team of the same name of Marvel comics it is one of the most entertaining animation film we have seen in a while.

This film is likely to down in history as one of the best science fiction films ever made along with the likes of Kubrick’s 2001: A Space Odyssey. It is hard to ignore the influence of that Kubrick classic in terms of scale and opulence. It is a one of its kind experience at the cinema theatres. And on a side note, remember what Dylan Thomas said about not going gently into the good night.

Forget Ouija, read the newspapers instead. There are more horror stories in that these days.

Their whole approach to hunt the tiger borders on the ridiculous at times. In between all the tiger hunting, there is also a molestation attempt, of one of the women that is. It is hard to understand the characters and their motivations, they are way too superficial. The special effects are a mixed bag, the odd one is impressive while some of it looks fake. The acting also borders on the amateurish. On the whole, these tigers are not burning too bright.

For those who like war movies, Fury is eminently watchable and even as a action film, it succeeds.
