Wes Ball doesn’t rely too much on special effects although it would have been tempting to do so given the technology that is at disposal today. The Maze Runner is better than many of the mainstream super hero movies and is worth a shot.

All in all, with a high feel-good quotient, Khoobsurat delivers a pleasant outing at the cinemas.

The film is sprinkled with humor and some clever lines which keep it going but the screenplay hits a few roadblocks particularly in the latter half when it becomes a road movie. There is not much of an attempt there to push the envelope and you can’t read too much in the characters or their motives.

The screenplay doesn’t show all its cards instantly, instead they are tantalizingly revealed one by one culminating in a finale that will leave you smiling….t’s also good to see Jennifer Aniston who also plays her part with conviction, act in such films rather than the mainstream trash. All in all Life of Crime is the perfect caper for a Sunday matinee.

Given that all the razzmatazz is intact, those who have seen the previous film will enjoy this and those who haven’t seen it, are likely to be tempted to watch it after seeing this.

All the blemishes apart Mary Kom is still an exceptional story of an underdog who achieved what she set out to and for that, it is worth a watch.

The story is pretty much the standard and predictable one but it’s the characters that make the film more interesting, especially the turtles. Each one has its own trait and they are fun as a team, they look bigger and stronger than the ones we saw in the previous film. All in all, the turtles offer some harmless entertainment.

There are plenty of applaud worthy moments in Mardaani and barring a few manipulative and exploitive scenes, which should have been left on the editing table, this is a reasonably smooth ride.

Guardians of the Galaxy offers good times at the cinema, especially with a tub of pop corn.

…if you are looking for entertainment then 22 Jump Street provides a decent dose of it.
