For all its sincerity, 'Enna Vilai' occasionally overplays its hand, and a tighter second act could have made the eventual courtroom payoff hit even harder. Still, this is a film with something to say, and it says it with conviction rather than melodrama. Karunas and Nimisha Sajayan carry it further than a shakier script might otherwise have managed.
