Dolphin Tale 2 is an upcoming family film written and directed by Charles Martin Smith and sequel to his 2011 film Dolphin Tale. Inspired by the true story of a dolphin named Winter who was rescued off the Florida coast. The film will follow a boy who befriends an injured dolphin who lost her tail in a crab trap.

"Dolphin Tale 2 is a film aimed at a very specific age group and for them, it works. It has just the right amount of drama to keep young viewers entertained, without ever weighing them down. To add to this, the animals and their interaction with the humans are bound to please them enough to keep them entertained.
