"Scream 7 is just okay; it might serve as a good film to watch down the line on digital, but this is not the "once and for all" film that the tagline is trying to sell, as the writing and the direction are not up to par with that level of ambition, and as such, while the film entertains, it also lacks the punch of being just plain fun to watch."

"This slasher ride will keep you on the edge of your seat, even if it doesn't quite make you scream with fright. Scream 7 is a decent entry in the franchise that delivers ample thrills and chills."

"The film blends legacy trauma with digital fears but falls short on narrative depth and innovation."

"Everything about Scream 7 is dull as a butter knife with a muddled jumble of plot strands that go nowhere and suspects who are killed off even before they are fully presented as options. Scream 7 despite seeing the return of so many members of the cast, is unable to recreate the meta magic of the 1996 original, which is cause enough to scream in frustration."

"The horror franchise's uninspired new installment mostly stands out for its surplus of mother-daughter squabbling. The film exhibits no sense of how to stage a surprise, settling instead for hackish tricks, and if your mouth opens wide during any of the supposedly terrifying interludes, it's more likely to form a yawn than a cry. If there's a single witty idea in the entire two-hour slog, I missed it."
