Swapped

David Ellison and John Lasseter's Skydance Animation inches closer to an identity with this cute and colorful body-swap adventure.

The film pairs handsome visuals and committed voice work with a body-swap story that stays resolutely safe.

There's nothing transformative about the simple message of Swapped. Imaginative design belies a tired tale about walking a mile in someone else's fur (or feathers), one light on comedy and insight despite plenty of visual imagination in its world of flora-fauna hybrids.

Better than its familiar premise would suggest. The computer animation of the verdant environs looks beautiful, and while Jordan and Temple are more than adequate in their appealing vocal turns, it's Morgan who steals the film with his committed and hugely entertaining turn as the fish.
