The Pet Detective

Sharaf U Dheen shines in a chaotic yet amusing comic caper

Pet Detective is one of those movies that's partly fun and partly funny, but rarely both at the same time and not consistently so. Although the Sharafudheen-starrer does not reach the level of evergreen comedies, it makes a solid effort by trying something different.

The film The Pet Detective, written and directed by debutant Pranish Vijayan, can be described in the fewest words thus - laughter, guffaws, collective laughter; thrilling, entertaining.

The Pet Detective is only moderately successful in its ambitious endeavour to immerse us in a comic book universe. For a film of this nature, the jokes that land well are just about a handful.
