Johnson Thomas's Film Reviews

This is a well-designed Marvel Universe, crossover franchise, spectacle party, riding high on Led Zeppelin’s “Immigrant Song,” that’s bound to get everyone who watches it, into a tizzy!

Ali Fazal Fails To Match Up To Judi Dench’s Brilliance…

This is a potential Oscar Goldmine even in terms of performance and probably the best ever sequel of an original iconic film, made.
-
The film is certainly entertaining — but as a fluff piece at best.
-
While you might be briefly fascinated to behold the spoofy onscreen antics on display here, it’s not something that will hold your attention for long. The narrative is basically a gushing parade of nonsense, silly, showy pyrotechnics presented with sly effrontery and irksome guile.
-
This one is not a great film but definitely an enjoyable one!
-
Bill and the kids do a fantastic and totally convincing job of drawing the viewer in. The esoteric mix of wonder, danger and learning is quite a potent one. It is both poignant and harrowing!
-
This film is strongly allegoric. The evils of war, obsession, revenge and the liberating aspects of sacrifice are delineated in exciting, funny and unforgettably poignant assay.
-
The animation is the standard bearing distinctive. And the pacing is break-neck so you just have to hold on tight and sit upright for the exciting and reasonably thrilling joyride. This film may not measure up to the first two issues on most fronts but as a standalone it’s still affective and rousing!

The Amazonian quality that Gal Gadot displays here is simply stunning. She wears her costume without allowing it to dictate her moves. It’s a command performance that will go down in superhero history as amongst the best ever. While she is every bit the Goddess she represents, Pine, as the all-too-human pilot, lends an emotional heft even to the man-in-distress cop out. ‘Wonder Woman’ I must say is the oddly rare superhero story that breathes fresh life into the jaded cosmos of comic-book super-heroics.
