Raabta is a confused film that never establishes a firm balance between its crossover love stories.

Haraamkhor starts off as a very enjoyable film that’s filled with funny situations, unique characters and an overall enjoyable aura. But in the second half the story seems to take unnecessary turns, slowing its pace down. It will still be a delight to watch for those who admire the genius that is Nawazuddin Siddiqui.

Kahaani 2 is an excellently crafted thriller, which is bogged down by the curse of the second half. It’s nonetheless a good weekend watch.

Akira is an entertainer. It will surely manage to get you intrigued right from the start. But there’s too many theatrics to sit through here. Plus, the script as well as the acting performance are not strong enough to make you invested in the lead character, Akira. This film is a good one-time watch, but like we said, if you’re tired of clichéd situations and unneeded drama, you can skip this one.

It’s hard to imagine what Raman Raghav 2.0 could have been had it been made by a different director. It’s a film that utterly suits the style of Anurag Kashyap; yet he fails to create a captivating experience. This ends up making Nawazuddin Siddiqui the saving grace in the end, and he handles this responsibility like a boss. Raman Raghav 2.0 is to be watched if you wish to dive into the convoluted mind of a serial killer. If you’re not interested in that, you can give this one a miss.

Bahl’s scenes are seen falling flat most of the time, and he isn’t even able to whip out something to keep us captivated during the boring parts. He however succeeds in bringing out the best from his actors.

A long-running propaganda film that aims to advertise self-proclaimed saint, Gurmeet Ram Rahim Singh, his comical clothing sense and the cavalcade of his ludicrously modified vehicles. It wants you to worship him and do the exact opposite of what Raju Hirani’s masterpiece PK wanted you to do. The amount of money that has been spent on this nonsensical work is a tight slap on the faces of indie filmmakers who are running from pillar to post for funding. This film doesn’t deserve your attention, and it doesn’t even fall the ‘so bad it’s good’ category. Pass it on and do something worthy with your day.

Kaththi worked like a tonic. Picks up slowly, but delivered a power packed performance. Recommended to you if you truly expect an action entertainer performance. It’s actually a one time show. But you can definitely manage yourself to sit for 3 hours with a popcorn and yes tissues as well mainly at the second half.

Catch this one because you have waited for some good ol’ fan-fic that does not try too hard to elucidate on the ‘good over evil’ aspect. A neat take on the rising divides between the mutants and the people and the institution of the State biting into the decision – making. This is an applicable storyline that definitely travels beyond fiction. So the kid can watch this for the respect to fandom paying some homage to Storm who is highly under – portrayed in this one, or simply to be introduced to the franchise. The adult can take this as an apt swing from the news channels and news papers that talk of similar war – making day in and day out.
