• Watching Vishal Bharadwaj’s HAIDER is like watching a classical concert on stage with ‘live’ musicians. There’s a Violin, Viola and Cello (all stringed instruments from the same family); all these instruments perform in perfect harmony. A flute renders its soulful melody whilst a piano pitches in perfectly to sync in harmony with the rest of the orchestra.

  • FINDING FANNY is a treat for cinema lovers. It’s as though filmmakers have finally realized that audiences too have to be respected.

  • There are certain ‘sugar free’ and ‘iodex’ moments which punch huge holes in the screenplay. Producers will have to be wary of such impediments. If you believe in the subject, produce it with passion; don’t make a joke of it by making it an opportunity to promote products.

I doff my hat to Mary Kom the boxer; she deserves every bit of recognition coming her way.

  • MARDAANI is a must watch. It’s an edge-of-the-seat thriller that catapults you right into the middle of the plot. The execution is near flawless and it takes you a while to realize that this is a film on child trafficking.

  • KATIYABAAZ is not for those who like their item songs and ‘ceeti-eliciting’ dialogues. It is for those who love their cinema shaken and stirred!

  • The first half is slick… pure entertainment, the second half, towards the fag end, loses a wee-bit of its kick.

Nevertheless, for a citizen dreaming of a nation free of corruption, honest police officers and the end of politicians who suck blood, a visit to the multiplex will give you that feel… So what if it is only for 142 minutes!!!

  • Bhai fans are going to have a blast seeing their hero ride a double decker through a crowded street, cross in front of a speeding train knocking off his bicycle, nonchalantly, at the last second, or even jumping out of high-rises. This is a definite treat.

  • HATE STORY 2 is a slick film with powerful performances. You won’t regret watching this one!

  • FILMISTAAN is a film that cannot be missed. Watch it for its storyline. Watch it for its execution. Watch it for its many excellent performances.

  • For Akshay Kumar fans, this is a must-see movie. It will not only entertain, but will also help you spare a moment in prayer for the ones fighting on the borders of our country; our real heroes.
