• While the philosophising doesn’t get too heavy, towards the end one feels there could have been a better, more layered payoff rather than the simple one that is served. The film is more interesting in parts, while the whole feels a bit disjointed. A tighter script could have helped, but for now the little gags in the film work just fine.

  • ‘Kuch Bheege Alfaaz’, while takes time to say what it has to, is one story you will definitely want to hear.

  • The production values are top notch and so is the music. While the narrative may get a bit repetitive, like how birthday songs can get, maybe that’s what the director intended. That being said, this is one party you may want to attend if you like your cinema to be dark and mysterious.

  • While one may remark on the timing of the film releasing so close to Anurag Kashyap’s ‘Mukkabaz’, it would be safe to say that the two are polar opposites, and this one doesn’t even come close to it. But then again, no one ever really makes any effort in this one either.

  • This is one film that looks at a much bigger problem when it comes to shrinking humans than any previous film on the subject. While it dithers in what it wants to eventually say, it is certainly a fun watch.

  • While Bhatt has managed to piece together the disjointed ends of his extremely laborious story, and there is a climax that one did not expect, it already too late. With the number of songs in the film, which all sound the same, ‘1921’ is more of a horror-musical. Even if you are weak-hearted, this one will not scare you for too long.

  • Farhan Akhtar and Ritesh Sidhwani with director Mrighdeep Singh Lamba have created a successful franchise, and there is ample scope to make a Fukrey 3, but this time, we hope it doesn’t take them four years to do so.

  • The chemistry between Ranveer and Sanjay is darkly entertaining. You may even feel guilty while enjoying a moment of black humour in scenes between the two actors. With powerful dialogues by Nitin Dixit and achingly beautiful lyrics by Mukta Bhatt, the film is an engrossing watch. For a serious film on global warming, Kadvi Hawa is non-preachy and entirely watchable.

  • The fact that IRA is not the most threatening terror outfit may make this film seem out of the place when placed in context with our current terrorism scenarios. Yet give it a chance. Go along with Jackie with this ride. He may not come out as a super hero always, in every scene, but its heartening to watch him try.

  • Considering the summer holidays are on, you can take your little ones to the theater who may enjoy it. But you may just zone out in this very ordinary story that has very little to offer adults.
