Fukrey Returns Reviews
The situations are so tired and contrived there’s nothing that even such capable hands as Richa Chaddha and Pankaj Tripathi can do, to retain our interest.
Watch Fukrey Returns if you like but don’t expect the spark of the original. Plus, the giggles are more like a reminder of the original Fukrey and nothing more.
Fukrey Returns is a tedious 141-minute watch which is unfunny, unintelligent and repetitive.
Fukrey Returns, which arrives four years after Fukrey, sloppily riding the goodwill of the original, has to be endured, not enjoyed.
The film funnily takes you back to the first Fukrey with few moments which are refreshing to watch. However, the twist in this one could have been executed in a better way, but it won't disappoint you either. Spend your weekend with 'Fukrey Return's as it gives you a reason to laugh out loud.
Where most members of Fukrey Returns are as superfluous as its new, blah soundtrack, the whimsical troika of Sharma, Chadha and Pankaj Tripathi do their best to lift its plodding pace with their distinct brand of humour. But even the cub couldn't suppress his yawn. I am only human.
Farhan Akhtar and Ritesh Sidhwani with director Mrighdeep Singh Lamba have created a successful franchise, and there is ample scope to make a Fukrey 3, but this time, we hope it doesn't take them four years to do so.
Fun elements, but could have been better paced...
All good things come to an end so that they aren't stretched and made bad. Perhaps they should listen to the advice of their own creation Hunny who says "Yeh aukaad ka zamaana hai". Not risking another Fukrey unless they have a amazing trump card up their sleeves would be a step in that direction.
Fukrey Returns is one super-entertaining movie. Retaining the magic of the first part, this easily is one of the best comedies of the year. Tiger also plays an important role in the film so yeh Tiger Zinda Hai jab tak aa jaaye Tiger Zinda Hai.
FUKREY RETURNS is a fun, clean film that works despite the illogical and slightly unconvincing plot. With no other significant Hindi movie in theatres around, FUKREY RETURNS definitely has a chance of excelling at the box office.
As the film unravels, it gets as clumsy and annoying as Varun’s character. I laughed a bit and was interested for a while on how they would manage to arrange the money they needed, but eventually I was too bored to even care.Watch it if you must. You wouldn’t really regret it if you even give this one a miss.
In Addition To The Performances, What 'Fukrey Returns' Also Gets Right Is An Appealing Soundtrack, And A Background Score That Does Well To Enhance The Punches. But, The Misses Outnumber The Hits.
Make a film around Sharma/Chuchcha, if you wish, Mr Lamba. If you do intend to bring back the rest of Team Fukrey in a third venture though, please remember not to neglect them as you have done in this one. The consequence of that neglect is that Fukrey Returns is funny but its gnawing hollowness is impossible to ignore. It may as well have been a stand-up comedy show headlined by Varun Sharma instead of a film.
Fukrey Returns is a thoroughly entertaining and enjoyable comedy and it will prove to be a hit at the box-office.
The trouble with sequels is that they need to take the story forward or put the protagonists in a new setting. Fukrey, the original mayhem was fun because the protagonists were losers and yet they had a knack of getting out of trouble. This film alas has none of the original humor, the jokes seem forced and out of really bad whatsapp forwards, the characters have no redeeming qualities and despite a bigger budget the story seems forced.
Audience Reviews for Fukrey Returns
Not as entertaining as fukrey was...
It’s been a year in the movie from where last fukrey leaves the premises and this sequel takes off.....chucha and his company has again found a firm ground to roll their dices of #chuchiagiri ...pandit ji (brilliant Pankaj Tripathi) is still raking moolahs with his trickeries and bholi (the akhaad and bold Richa chadda) is behind the bars...
This tym again the story revolves around the chucha &gang being under the terror of bholi and how they executes their plan to come out of the web....only differences being they have one more antagonist to fight with and chucha with his premonition ability (last tym he had the dream)).........
With the strong back up riding on its shoulder and they being basking in the glory of last outing, this FUKREY RETURNS struggles hard to match up to its predecessor.. what FUKREY had in the original was the fresh idea (wicked and illogical though),strong script and dialogues whereas this one slackens and plot completely becomes a drag after a point.. characters wanders in the wonderland only to be dumped in the mud...in the original, we had the Honney(pulkit Samrat) and his love affair..Zafar(Ali Fazal) ,Lali (Manjot singh) and their love triangle with all sweet and sour moments which made us root for them but this time this department shows up with sore thumb... having said all this, yes It has some moments but in bit and pieces and can be shrugged off .......the only thing for which this movie can be seen is the ‘chucha ‘(character played to the T by the effervescent VARUN SHARMA)..he has again beautifully portrayed the innocence of his character..he is the only knight in the shining armour in this otherwise gloomy tale of fukrey’s voyage......
FUKREY RETURNS is strictly an average venture....it is a no brainer light entertainment ..logic lovers may give it a skip....it is for those who have an appetite for such genres and are FUKRAASSSSS in their spirit.....
