• Watch Kill Dil if you have plenty of time to kill. It is unlikely to deliver much joy to your dil, though.

  • The leading lady of The Shaukeens ditches her boyfriend because, in her words, “he made fun of my creation and called it stupid and obnoxious”.

That is it: those are the very adjectives that would best describe this unfunny, eminently avoidable film.

  • Super Nani takes upwards of two hours to articulate something that all those weaned on Bollywood potboilers have known for ages. While doing so, it ratchets the decibel levels up to breaking point.

…To put it simply, Super Nani is a super bore.

  • There is no dearth of gloss in Happy New Year, but everything else in the film, including the content and its treatment, are allowed to go for a toss.

  • This hackneyed tale of a trio of law-breakers who struggle to keep out of harm’s way only to discover that crime does not pay has no clear sense of place.

  • Bang Bang is strictly for Hrithik Roshan fans and for those that do not want an action flick to be anything more than just that.

  • The question is: should you watch Mary Kom? You should, the simple reason being that we owe it to the pugilist who has gone where few Indians have ever gone – to the pinnacle of her sport – and stayed there long enough not to be remembered as a flash in the pan.

  • What Raja Natwarlal lacks is authentic humour and genuine sparks of inspiration. As a result, despite the consistently retrained acting all around, it fails to be anything more than desultory.

  • Singham Returns has a fair sprinkling of angry wisecracks that might draw spontaneous whistles and loud claps from those that love violent fights to the finish.

One can only hope that this is indeed the end, and another sequel isn’t lurking in the future.

  • If this is entertainment, what, pray, is torture? Run for cover.

The dog scores over the rest of the cast because the animal does not have any dialogue to deliver nor any song to swing to.
