HIGHWAY is a triumph for Alia Bhatt, who delivers a marvelous performance. Also, what you carry home, besides Alia’s winning performance, are the stunning visuals, especially towards the second hour. But the treatment of the written material restricts its appeal largely. The connoisseurs of cinema and a tiny segment of the movie-going audience may go ga-ga over the film, but there’s precious little for the large base of mass audience that’s looking at the entertainment quotient from the maker of hugely admired entertainers like JAB WE MET and LOVE AAJ KAL.

…made with a lot of heart, but appears partly engaging. Shekhar Suman, the director, knows his job, but the writing lets him down. However, what you carry home is the wonderful performance by Adhyayan.

…an out of the box film like ONE BY TWO has some engaging moments, but they are few and far between. The excessive length and the slow pacing also play a spoilsport.

The effort is to make a hatke love story, hence the team tries to pack just about everything on the shelf: romance [also mandatory songs, skin show and lip locks], adrenaline pumping action, bike stunts et al. However, despite cramming the film with the staple ingredients to woo the spectators, the impact is sorely missing because it appears forced in the scheme of things, instead of seamlessly flowing in the narrative. KARLE PYAAR KARLE is a dull and dreary fare!

…has few moments that stay with you, but a weak second half plays the spoilsport.

R… RAJKUMAR doesn’t work. It is Prabhu Dheva’s weakest Hindi film to date!

…a well-intentioned movie made with gracious objectives of drawing one’s attention to the genuine issues that plague the society. However, its release timing seems inopportune. The clash with a biggie like RAM-LEELA may sideline this well-meaning film.

…faces stiff competition this week with six films releasing, certainly has more than an uphill task of manage to make it past the weekend. Though the film has an interesting story line with more than praise worthy comic actors, the sad under usage of talent plagues the film. If that wasn’t enough, the final nail in the coffin is the fact that despite being promoted as a comedy the film almost never makes you laugh.

ISHK ACTUALLY could easily have been called ISHK CONFUSED or maybe ISHK, REALLY? You don’t want to sit through an ordeal of a love story. Avoid!

WAR CHHOD NA YAAR is an interesting idea, coupled with noble intentions, but is treated amateurishly.
