...an endearing story about the struggles of a middle-class family. With heartfelt emotions and layered storytelling, the film is a mirror that reflects reality.

Sri Ganesh's film, starring Siddharth, R. Sarathkumar, Devayani and Yogi Babu, is steadfastly sentimental and dense, leaving little room for the mundanities of life to breathe on their own. The contrived nature of 3BHK ultimately becomes a hard-to-ignore flaw and consequently, the film doesn't entirely manage to fulfill its potential.

At 140 minutes, the film tests patience without offering much beyond recognition. Yes, the struggles will ring a bell. Yes, you'll appreciate the absence of manufactured drama. But recognition isn't the same as engagement. 3 BHK constructs its narrative like its titular apartment: functional, predictable, and standard.

3BHK is a heavy and moving drama that benefits from strong performances by Siddharth and Sarath Kumar, though the narrative could have been more engaging.

3BHK lacks that. We needed to get a bit of Vasudevan's good moments to feel for the bad ones, which is basically the whole movie. Instead, what we get is a series of failures. It is not suffering that makes life bearable, but happiness, even if it is infinitesimal and sporadic.

3BHK is an unconvincing advertisement for middle-class success, failing to convincingly portray the struggles and aspirations it attempts to highlight.
