...Kudumbasthan is a delightful family drama with heaps of relatable comedy. It also gives you lessons on family relationships and money.

Debutant Rajeshwar Kalisamy makes a solid film that not only stays true to the genre but executes a strong version of comedy that is non-problematic.

For all its detours, Kudumbasthan works best when it sticks to basics — much like its protagonist, who discovers that family and honest work trump any get-rich-quick scheme. The film lands enough of its punchlines to keep the laughs coming.

Kudumbasthan wins you over with plenty of humour and relatable characters.

The sketches in this Manikandan-starrer are laugh-out-loud funny mostly, but the film suffers from the sum of the parts not being greater than the whole. The film drowns under its own weight of not being able to look past the makers' strength in creating relatable sketches. Kudumbasthan gets to this point in a rather convoluted way that it doesn't have the same impact.

From the moment the film begins until the end, every character in it keeps talking without pause. At one point, doubt arises as to whether we are watching a play or YouTube comedy videos.
