Amour Reviews

-

An unflinching depiction of the agony faced by an octogenarian couple, Amour is one of the most compassionate films about ageing ever made. Simply put, Amour is unmissable.

This movie has some heartbreaking moments and is moving, but on the lighter side, it is also somehow reassuring that we are never alone. Amour treats the subject of love in a manner that has seldom before been visited on screen.

Though the story is sad, subdued and quite slow-moving, you need to have the patience to comprehend the message correctly. It gives you a hard-hitting look at love.

If you’re ageing or if you have parents who are elderly, this is one of the most troubling and heartbreaking films you’ll see. All the more reason to see it, but it’s probably a good idea to keep a rom-com or video game at hand to distract you from the intensity of Amour once you leave the film.

Don’t miss this acutely original, heartbreaking film.
