Kedarnath
2018 · Yahoo · Dec 2018
But overall the shift of tones while blending a fictional, inter-faith romance with a historical natural disaster, the film suffers to some degree from the maker's romantic and idealistic ideas and thereby leaves you unsatisfied.

Bhoomi
2017 · Oct 2017
Overall, this film coming from director Omung Kumar who had earlier given us films like "Mary Kom" and "Sarbjit", is a big let down. The entire viewing experience is truly repulsive and an eye sore.

Simran
2017 · Sify · Sep 2017
Overall, this frothy entertainer Simran is a film Kangana carries squarely on her shoulders and makes the most slipshod scenes look endearing. Watch it only for Kangana Ranaut.

Trolls
2016 · NDTV · Nov 2016
Overall, Trolls is infectious, as it is not too preachy while balancing the universal truth about happiness. It will appeal to children and adults alike.

Raaz Reboot
2016 · NDTV · Sep 2016
Overall, Raaz Reboot is mediocre fare and may appeal only to fans of the Raaz franchise.

Freaky Ali
2016 · NDTV · Sep 2016
Overall, Freaky Ali inspired by the English film, Happy Gilmore, entertains with its simplicity and raw Indian appeal.

Waarrior Savitri
2016 · NDTV · Aug 2016
...a tackily mounted film that fails to appeal. His story, screenplay, plot, characterisation and action sequences are all sketchily crafted, and the outcome is a boring, tedious affair. There is nothing that elevates the viewing experience.

1920 London
2016 · NDTV · May 2016
Overall, don't bother travelling back in time and give 1920 London a skip.

Direct Ishq
2016 · NDTV · Feb 2016
This over two-hour saga is an absolute eyesore and makes for tedious viewing. It is a far cry from the rom-com it is touted to be.

Fitoor
2016 · IndiaWest · Feb 2016
Overall, "Fitoor" does not live up to the great expectations you have for the film.

Chauranga
2016 · IndiaWest · Jan 2016
The title of the film, "Chauranga," which means four colors, does not justify itself properly. Equally limp is the film in its ability to deliver a strong message. The slow pace and lack of high octane action, leaves it looking like a slice of the Dalit life.

Angry Indian Goddesses
2015 · Yahoo · Dec 2015
...would appeal only to the urban audience, as the others would neither relate to the characters nor some of their shocking behaviour.

Silver Linings Playbook
2012 · Firstpost · Nov 2015
With this film, the director has once again proved his mettle. He delivers a realistic picture of what manic behaviour in a family looks like. The script never lapses into mundane or uninteresting language. The scenes are well sculpted and amplified by the intimacy and focus of the director and his actors.

He Named Me Malala
2015 · Yahoo · Nov 2015
"My father only gave me the name Malala, he did not make me (the person I am), Malala," is the only blunt statement in this documentary that hits the nerve at the right spot. This spontaneous response, from Malala Yousafzai, shows that she has the spunk and a mind of her own. Malala is a perfect subject for a great documentary but unfortunately this documentary lacks her spirit.

Hotel Transylvania 2
2015 · NDTV · Nov 2015
Hotel Transylvania 2, is about the need for open mindedness in life and love, in its entirety is a feel good and fun film which is neither ghoulish nor overtly comical, where the message is simply lost.

Guddu Ki Gun
2015 · NDTV · Nov 2015
With dialogues packed with rhymes, mispronunciations and double entendres, the film is a delightful adult comedy that keeps you in splits by the minute. The characteristic one-liners are crisp, tempered and never sound crass. If not funny, it at least elicits a chuckle.

Rock the Kasbah
2015 · Yahoo · Oct 2015
Depending heavily on cultural cliches and crisp one liners, this comedy drama written by Mitch Glazer is an easy watch. But the issue with the script is that it switches from an adventurous tone to a moralistic tale halfway through the narration. The change is sudden, unforeseen and completely derails the film from its original track and goal.

Bhaag Johnny
2015 · NDTV · Sep 2015
While the plot is uniquely layered and the film is interestingly designed, it is the writer's carelessly adopted formula: "Show only what you want the viewers to see", that leaves gaping holes in the plotline.

Calendar Girls
2015 · NowRunning · Sep 2015
At the end of "Calendar Girls", the film simply states: "Life is all about the individual choices we make." One wonders, if this is actually a warning message for those who intend to watch this film.

Kis Kisko Pyaar Karu
2015 · NowRunning · Sep 2015
The humour comes in the form of witty dialogues and the situations, albeit oft seen and forced, with no logical links.

Katti Batti
2015 · NDTV · Sep 2015
...what the director does not realise is that too much masala could spoil his film, at least for the audience. Overall, the tragedy of Katti Batti lies in the fault of its director.

Meeruthiya Gangsters
2015 · NDTV · Sep 2015
With modest production values, Naren Gedia's camera work captures the essence of the film decently. But it is the initial lengthy single shot, taken on a rotating trolley in the canteen scene, which is an eye-sore. Overall, Meeruthiya Gangsters offers nothing exceptional.

Hero
2015 · NDTV · Sep 2015
Overall, this Hero is below mediocre fare except for the lead pair's straightforward performances.

Hitman: Agent 47
2015 · Yahoo · Sep 2015
The film looks great but at the same time is disorienting. And the fault lies with the convoluted screenplay by Skip Woods and Michael Finch. It gets confusing to keep a track of who is working for whom and what they hope to gain. Also, the climax goes against the logic of the characters we were first fed. The film may appeal only to the "Hitman" video games fans.

All Is Well
2015 · NowRunning · Aug 2015
...lacks depth and novelty in terms of the story and characterization.

2015 · Yahoo · Jul 2015
A must-watch film for canine lovers and those interested in emotional dramas.

Pitch Perfect 2
2015 · Yahoo · Jul 2015
With decent technical and production values, Director Elizabeth Banks' handling of a weak script, fails to impress viewers.

Bezubaan Ishq
2015 · NDTV · Jul 2015
Watch Bezubaan Ishq only if you are a die-hard romantic and have nothing better to view. The visuals help to break the monotony of watching a staid and predictable story unfurl.

Inside Out
2015 · NDTV · Jun 2015
This is a heart-warming funny film that may well be a bit abstract for children, but would definitely appeal to the rest.

Insidious: Chapter 3
2015 · NDTV · Jun 2015
What starts off as an intriguing film ends up as an insipid horror tale that leaves no impact.

Hamari Adhuri Kahani
2015 · NDTV · Jun 2015
Director Mohit Suri's Hamari Adhuri Kahani is an anachronistic, tragic romance that touches an emotional chord, yet, makes you dismiss it as a regressive piece of art. The direction appears confused, with a present-day setting, while the treatment of the plot and characters belong to a bygone era.

The Duff
2015 · Yahoo · Jun 2015
The title is an acronym for "The Designated Ugly Fat Friend", whose drivel drives the plot. It is a predictable tale of high school romance between the "Duff" and the school's most sought-after hunk. Overall, "The Duff" is a feel-good, vanilla rom-com which is entertaining with some old-school charm that you can relate to.

Jurassic World
2015 · Zee News · Jun 2015
Director Colin Trevorrow has done a commendable job by delivering this colossal project which is close to the original. The visuals which include CGI images, VFX and 3D effects are astonishing and the background score accentuates the viewing experience.

Dil Dhadakne Do
2015 · Deccan Herald · Jun 2015
With a run time of nearly three hours, the pace of the film is slow, but it's entertaining!

P Se PM Tak
2015 · NDTV · Jun 2015
What impedes the smooth, uninterrupted viewing is the constant bleeps in the dialogues, imposed by the censor board of the country. Apart from this, the writers have been innovative in introducing new cuss words like "lafange, luchhe, darpok, eena meena deekaa"... whatever they are supposed to mean. Honestly, P Se PM Tak is a weak satire that does not impress.

Ishqedarriyaan
2015 · Hindustan Times · Jun 2015
With all the tropes of the romance genre weaved into it, Ishqedarriyaan is a typical contrived, mushy and predictable tale of a Prince Charming and a damsel in distress. Overall, this is an ideal film for die-hard romantics who believe that good things happen to good people.

Welcome to Karachi
2015 · Yahoo · May 2015
Director Ashish R. Mohan seems to have a flair for action, but could have concentrated on quality humour as well. The dialogues, though witty at times seem like a feeble effort to make the audience laugh. "Welcome 2 Karachi" is a poor desi version of the "Dumb and the Dumber".

Maggie
2015 · Yahoo · May 2015
...is a well-directed zombie film that is pleasantly engaging. It will appeal to those who are not into gore and blood curdling horror.

San Andreas

Overall, the film is amusing and will appeal to an older audience with a bohemian attitude who is willing to learn and unlearn about life.

Broken Horses
2015 · NDTV · Apr 2015
Well mounted with good production and technical values, the film has an inexplicable gentleness to the narration, very characteristic of Vidhu Vinod Chopra. It will appeal to the emotionally inclined.

The Lazarus Effect
2015 · NDTV · Mar 2015
Technically, the quality of the visual effects is above average but oft seen and forgettable. Effectively, The Lazarus Effect is not worth your leisure time.

Against the Sun
2015 · NDTV · Mar 2015
Against The Sun is just another film about survivors of World War II. It is neither motivating nor enthralling.

Birdman or (The Unexpected Virtue of Ignorance)
2015 · NDTV · Jan 2015
What adds to the viewing experience and enhances the psychological effect of the film, is its frenzied background score. Its adrenaline packed leitmotif of the drum score by Antonio Sanchez is effectively used to create and drive home the point of the insanity prevalent in the narration. Overall, the film is a must watch for its unconventional presentation, style and performances.

Foxcatcher
2015 · NDTV · Jan 2015
Overall, Director Bennett Miller, after generating the right balance for a tense build up crushes the impact with a rushed denouement. This leaves the viewers in a vacuum. If it were not for the ace actors and their performances, Foxcatcher would have been just another mediocre fare.

Penguins of Madagascar
2014 · IANS · Nov 2014
While the kids will ruminate over the high octane action scenes, it's the pun-filled dialogues like "Nicohlas! Cage them," or "We are North Wind! Nobody dare break wind" that will keep the adults in splits. Overall, with attractive well-packaged visuals, good picture-perfect animation and competitive background score, the film will appeal to kids and adults alike. It is engaging and entertaining at the same time.

Big Hero 6
2014 · IANS · Nov 2014
Overall, "Big Hero 6″ is an attractive film that can be classified as a classic animation film.

Fury

"Fury" is technically brilliant, packed with military action and drama, but as a narrative, it is thematically stunted, riddled with cliches and oft-seen scenes.

Ouija
2014 · Yahoo · Nov 2014
"Ouija" may appeal to only those getting introduced to the horror genre. Otherwise, it is a disappointment considering it is a Halloween weekend release.

Haider
2014 · IANS · Oct 2014
"Haider" is a well made film complimented with dramatic performances, strong script and fine music. Don't miss this one.

The Prince
2014 · NDTV · Sep 2014
Overall, the film falls short on the directorial front and what adds to the disappointing fare is the bleeping of the cuss words in the dialogues owning to the censor board's diktat.

Amour
2013 · DNA India · Sep 2014
Though the story is sad, subdued and quite slow-moving, you need to have the patience to comprehend the message correctly. It gives you a hard-hitting look at love.

Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles
2014 · NDTV · Aug 2014
Overall, despite blatant product placements, the technically brilliant visuals and matching performances make the film worth a watch.

The Expendables 3
2014 · NowRunning · Aug 2014
What keeps you hooked is your patience or your fancy craze to see the once glorious A-list action stars perform. By and large, "The Expendables 3" may appeal only to front benchers who enjoy the adrenaline rush of mindless violence.

The Giver
2014 · NowRunning · Aug 2014
A concept film, based on Lois Lowry's book of the same name, Philip Noyce's "The Giver" reminds you of Neil Burger's "Divergent" which was released last April. But unlike "Divergent", this one is a simpler, one-dimensional story of revolt against the system.

The Hundred-Foot Journey
2014 · NowRunning · Aug 2014
The only drawback is that while plot is sugary sweet and engaging, the narrative lacks drama.

Into the Storm
2014 · NowRunning · Aug 2014
Director Steven Quale seems to have not taken this subject seriously as the frivolous last scene mars the impact reminding you that there is no story, but what you are experiencing is just a fictional masterpiece. The film definitely merits a viewing.

Guardians of the Galaxy
2014 · NowRunning · Aug 2014
The 'Guardian' characters are well-etched and their interpersonal relationships are also a highlight and are handled incredibly well throughout the film. The merging of the computer generated characters like Rocket and Groot with the human characters is seamless and so real. Unfortunately, the villains are a disappointment as they are not portrayed like megalomaniacs.

22 Jump Street
2014 · NowRunning · Aug 2014
With the cuss words bleeped out by the censors in India, it's a killjoy to watch the film as the overall viewing experience is marred. In spite of this, it is worth watching this no-brainer, on a wet lazy afternoon.

Lucy
2014 · NowRunning · Aug 2014
Overall, despite good production quality, decent visuals, and high action drama, Besson's fans would be disappointed because of the lack of noir-action drama. For the thinking audience, the same hooks that make the film engaging makes it look ridiculous and absurd.

Hercules

2014 · NowRunning · Jul 2014
... with its 3D effect is a mediocre fare that you'd want to watch on a rainy day if you have nothing better to do.

Dawn of the Planet of the Apes
2014 · NowRunning · Jul 2014
Overall the film is superbly crafted and engaging to watch. To have a sustained and flawless representation of the ape world and the dystopian state is no mean achievement. It is equally laudable the way it is skillfully captured by Director of Photography Michale Seresin whose frames seamlessly merge with the computer-generated images.

The Fault in Our Stars
2014 · NowRunning · Jul 2014
Overall, the film tugs at your emotional chord making you laugh and cry at the same time. But what makes the film memorable is that the characters linger in your mental orbit much after you leave the auditorium, making it a fine example of a good cinematic experience.

Chef
2014 · NowRunning · Jun 2014
Overall, 'Chef' is a well made film that is thoroughly enjoyable yet cloyingly formulaic in its presentation.

How to Train Your Dragon 2
2014 · NowRunning · Jun 2014
The action-packed script captures the imagination from all angles, painting a proper saga of conflicting ideologies against a visually exciting backdrop. The unexpected twists, the rousing action coupled with convincing humour and emotionally affecting consequences are the highlights of the film that pad up the artistry and action.

Grace of Monaco
2014 · NowRunning · Jun 2014
Overall, the zing is missing in the film and grace is lost!

Edge of Tomorrow
2014 · NowRunning · Jun 2014

Blended
2014 · NowRunnig · May 2014
Overall, compared to their previous collaborations, director Frank Coraci's third rom-com partnership between Adam Sandler and Drew Barrymore hits an above average mark that's worth a viewing.

The Raid 2
2014 · NowRunning · May 2014
Presented through an undercover policeman's point of view, it is a convoluted crime saga designed in a Godfather-style father-son crime drama with a whole sub-set of assassin characters who have their own storylines and sequences.

X-Men: Days of Future Past
2014 · NowRunning · May 2014
With an overdose of the serious and the silly, the plot manages to sustain the pace and intensity commendably. Overall, with nearly 25 characters to track, fleeting between time zones, space and technically brilliant visuals, concentrating on the film becomes a tedious affair.

Fading Gigolo
2014 · NowRunning · May 2014
Written by the director, the dialogues are racy and humorously laced with exotic romantic phrases in Spanish. What adds to the viewing pleasure is the artistically layered jazz score. Overall "Fading Gigolo" is a moderately entertaining dandy film that lacks dynamism.

Godzilla
2014 · NowRunning · May 2014
Giftwrapped in an emotional father-son and family bonding story that hooks you on the sensitivity graph, "Godzilla" doesn't give anybody time to be endearing or sarcastic or human in any way. It is a conundrum of a techno-thriller and a fabled nightmare put together.

Million Dollar Arm
2014 · NowRunning · May 2014
Visually, Director Craig Gillespie looks at India through the Hollywood prism, representing it as an uncanny bizarre country packed with weird living conditions with locals who unwittingly admit that "Here in India, we do things a little differently", making it look like a poor country cousin of "Slumdog Millionaire".

Transcendence
2014 · NowRunning · Apr 2014
This is cinematographer Wally Pfister's maiden directorial venture which by modern criteria is a stylish off-beat humourless film with an atmosphere of a noir film.

Divergent
2014 · NowRunning · Apr 2014
Despite all the minor flaws or cliches in "Divergent", director Neil Burger's minute aesthetic as well as technical trappings, do make many of the surreal moments of the film distinct, interesting and definitely worth a watch.

Oculus
2014 · NowRunning · Apr 2014
"Oculus" is a well-crafted small budget film that delivers. While the visuals have a poetic quality at first, they gradually get frequent and the film's tension between objective and apparent realities loses some of its power. Nevertheless, the film stays focused to its emotional quotient.

Rio 2
2014 · NowRunning · Apr 2014
Though the film is visually appealing and picturesque, the highlight of "Rio 2" is the beautifully choreographed soccer game in which Blu finds himself at the receiving end

Captain America: The Winter Soldier
2014 · NowRunning · Apr 2014
Though the film has a few thoughtless plot holes that could excavate logical flaws, the director brothers, Anthony and Joe Russo have taken great pains to make this film distinct and far superior to the 2011 released, "Captain America: The First Avenger" or any other Marvel Franchises. Overall, Captain America: The Winter Soldier would appeal only to Marvel Fans.

Sabotage
2014 · NowRunning · Mar 2014
"Sabotage" with large chunks of gore does not stimulate your mood as a thriller.

Noah
2014 · NowRunning · Mar 2014
Set on a vast canvas with appealing visuals, "Noah" is a fantasy laden, blinkers-on, one dimensional portrayal of the biblical character of the same name. And in no manner does it resemble any epic from the same genre, ever seen before. With computer generated images merging with ash-barren locales, this is a very modern take of a biblical film.

Need for Speed
2014 · NowRunning · Mar 2014
The visuals are convincing and realistic. The car flip, which killed Pete, can be touted as one of the most spectacular aerial cars flips ever-captured on film. Overall, the film is engaging and entertaining.

Muppets Most Wanted
2014 · NowRunning · Mar 2014
Here the plot with the heist drama is outdated and unappealing. Moreover, loaded with cinematic liberties, the entire experience seems a farce. Overall, the film offers loads of mild chuckles and fails to knock viewers off their feet.

3 Days to Kill
2014 · IANS · Mar 2014
The film tries to ape several different genres: a family drama, a love story and an action spy thriller. However, many of these aspects fail to come together into something concrete. Unfortunately, the plot is so cliched that it quickly becomes a bore.

300: Rise of an Empire
2014 · NowRunning · Mar 2014
After half an hour of watching the film, you feel the film rambles and gradually it becomes monotonous and wearisome. The dialogues are too feeble and laboured. What's more? The characters have inconsistent accents which make the entire involvement far-fetched.

Mr. Peabody & Sherman
2014 · Indian Express · Feb 2014

Vampire Academy
2014 · NowRunning · Feb 2014

Lone Survivor
2014 · Indian Express · Feb 2014
Overall though heart-wrenching, brutal and life-affirming, the film due to the glamourisation of the conflict exhibits a "Hollywood feel" to a realistic narration.

12 Years a Slave
2014 · IANS · Jan 2014
Director McQueen has nothing new to offer that we aren`t aware of. But it is his unflinching portrayal of Solomon Northup with scenes of brutal realism, dramatic dialogue, cartoonish villains and a plot that highlights the torture which the slaves endured that sets it apart.

Mandela: Long Walk to Freedom
2014 · IANS · Jan 2014

What's good about Escape Plan is that it is clean and not at all contemptuous till the very end. Watch it if you are Stallone or Schwarzenegger fans.

Diana
2013 · IANS · Oct 2013
The script itself acts as a ruthless stalker, uneasy with its own probing. It does little to convey either the perfection or imperfection of its subject. Unfortunately, it does not reveal anything about the enigmatic Diana, but manages instead to portray her as a tepidly manipulative and scheming woman, who fed the media with photographs taken with Dodi Fayed.

"Rush" is an engaging biopic with intense performances that will thrill you even if you are not an F1 buff.

We're the Millers
2013 · Zee News · Sep 2013

The Mortal Instruments: City of Bones
2013 · DNA · Aug 2013
Director Harald Zwart, who earlier presented Karate Kid, struggles to deliver this rather overtly complicated story effectively. There's so much bouncing around in tone and story that the film flounders with its cheesiness. There are features worth revealing in the film, and thankfully, it is less self-serious than the Twilight films. Nevertheless, the young and the exuberant will find The Mortal Instruments - City Of Bones worth a watch.

Zambezia

Star Trek Into Darkness
2013 · Zee News · May 2013
Apart from the action, whether it is the spaceship`s collision or the hand to hand combat in mid-air and the chases, what makes the film intense is the emotional politics.
