Chennai Love Story presents a fresh perspective on love, emphasizing honesty, emotional healing, and the true meaning of relationships. Despite a few shortcomings—especially in the second half—the film succeeds because of its heartfelt emotions, strong performances, and soulful music. For audiences who enjoy emotional romantic dramas, Chennai Love Story offers a satisfying experience and deserves a special place among recent Telugu love stories.

After setting things up beautifully before the interval, the film gradually slips into familiar territory. While the second half doesn't completely go haywire, most of it turns predictable. Had the makers maintained the same freshness and care in the second half, it could have raised the bar and emerged as a cult romantic drama.

The breezy first half, effortless chemistry between the lead pair, Mani Sharma's soothing background score and a few heart-touching episodes made the film a satisfying watch, though the film suffers to an extent when it attempts to be different from other love stories in the second half.

A charming first half and two winning lead performances are undone by an overlong, predictable second half that loses sight of what made Chennai Love Story special. It has so much beautiful potential and some lovely performances, but loses its sheen because of its excruciating length and weaker writing in the second half.

Chennai Love Story is a treat to watch until the key plot twist, packing within it an emotional love story and filmmaking aspirations. After the intermission, however, it's almost as though we are watching a different film. The result is a partly engaging film that doesn't soar.
