Crazy Rich Asians Reviews
An enjoyable affair...Michelle Yeoh as Eleanor, the stern matriarch of the Young family, is quite credible, aware at all times about the hard battle she has waged to be accepted too, and the thin foundation on which this rests.
Crazy Rich Asians’ social victories far outweigh its creative accomplishments - it is, admittedly, a giant win for representation in a white male dominated industry - but it never lets you forget that with only a slight adjustment in tone, it could pass off as a feature length advertisement for Singapore tourism.
Comprising an all Asian American cast, the film focuses on the region’s (Asia) wealth, which is refreshing. Despite its conventional story, 'Crazy Rich Asians' is a pretty romantic ride, rich in emotions and Asian in its sensibility and values. It will make you believe in love and what’s meant to be, will be.
