Dacoit

Adivi Sesh has built his career on choosing stories with something to say, and Dacoit fits that pattern. If you are willing to sit with a film that earns its emotional punches slowly rather than announcing them early, and has the ability to take you by surprise, Dacoit will give you what you came for. It is the kind of film that stays with you a little longer than you expected it to.

On the whole, DACOIT manages to hold interest due to its massy moments, action and performances. But the narrative is bogged down by haphazard execution, loopholes and a flawed twist.

Dacoit's biggest flaw is how relentlessly generic its storytelling feels. Overall, Dacoit keeps threatening to take off but never quite leaves the runway. It has all the noise, but none of the lift.

The script feels overly ambitious and unnecessarily convoluted, piling on subplots that eventually weigh the screenplay down. Instead of coming together as a gripping entertainer, it ends up feeling uneven and overstuffed - a film with big intentions that ultimately turns into a misfire.
