Fuze

Fuze doesn't really want to, or give us time to, dwell on the thin politics it covers itself in. This fast-moving caper sweeping across London, with some good-looking men of honour and dishonour in feverish action, can be enjoyable despite it.

Fuze may not linger long in the memory as a profound film but as a piece of high-octane, narratively playful cinema, it delivers with precision. It is brisk, inventive and consistently engaging, a film that understands the value of momentum and embraces the chaos of its own construction.

A strong idea that never fully comes together. It moves quickly, but the characters feel flat, so it's hard to stay invested for long or care about.

Fuze moves like greased lightning on its genre tracks, offering thrills and chills at every unexpected turn, and has the distinction of being even more fun once it is over, when you find yourself replaying the story to pin down the exact moment things first began to feel rotten.
