What 5 critics are saying

Critical reception for Maranamass is moderately positive, with reviewers broadly agreeing that the film delivers consistent entertainment through its dark comedy premise. Critics most commonly praised the effective use of both situational and dialogue-based humour, as well as its quirky characters. The primary reservation across reviews is pacing, with the film noted to meander or lose its grip at points, though most critics felt it recovered sufficiently to remain engaging throughout.

  2. Indian Express

    Film review

The film pulls us in right from the first frame, and even when there are moments when the grip loosens, it gets a hold back at just the right times. While it gets things right, Maranamass is a riot. It is a no-holds barred ride to territories that might not often be touched upon in any other genre.

  3. Ottplay

    Film review

Basil Joseph's dark comedy is a bumpy but entertaining ride. What drives the Basil Joseph-starrer home is that the makers use both situational and dialogue humour effectively.

  4. OnManorama

    Film review

Overall, 'Maranamass' stays true to what it promised through its trailer - a quirky, chaotic film that can keep you engaged till the end. The film, despite its quirkiness, does not forget the basic emotions of love and attachment that are weaved in at the most unexpected moments, delivering the film a balance.
