Though Lakshmy’s attempt is laudable, one can’t help but feel that the narration could have been better.

  • In just 114 minutes, Lakshmy has touched upon several issues: disastrous inter-caste love affairs, fragile relationships ruined by misunderstandings, the bond between father and son, mother and daughter, and political corruption.

Despite all these elements, a good cast and excellent music, the film fails to hit the right notes.

This attempt by Lakshmi Ramakrishnan is highly commendable. She tries to bring several stories together. Watch the film for its run-of-the-mill theme, and if you’re a fan of a road film.

Based on a journey in a lorry, rolling out under the title inspired by the lines on many such beasts, ‘Nerungi Vaa Muthamidathe’ is a path-breaking movie in Tamil cinema history.

  • Lakshmy’s intentions are good but her final product is not up to the mark.

  • Could have used more tension, but well-written and keeps us guessing…

  • A story that interests you to a larger extent, which could have been done better

  • …provides a rather pleasant journey with very few speed breakers. The problem is that neither the drama soaks us in completely nor the suspense angle, that despite being maintained throughout, brings us to the edge.
