• It is time for everyone involved with the franchise to really, truly and absolutely call it a day and let Alice go. The final chapter offers a powerless punch to a dried out series, ironically, much to everybody’s relief.

Even given that videogame-to-film transfers tend to be moronic, …The Final Chapter is exceptionally unendurable.

So overall, this film leaves you a bit cold in the chair, if you are not the one who is watching this as the first film of the series. At the heart of the series lies this very idea of cleansing the earth and rebuilding it from the ashes of the destruction so required.

Its climax though, unravels so cleanly, that the build-up seems like a waste. However, at the end they leave enough of a story that you wonder whether the next movie in the franchise is a reboot or a sequel.

  • The action sequences are breathlessly vicarious but it all appears too rote to be enjoyable. The pace is relentless. The action is never-ending so there’s little understanding of what is happening other than the Heroine’s continued survival even under the most vicious of circumstances. And at the end of it all there’s a suggestion that a new beginning may well be proffered –given that the cloned Alice assumes the place of the real thing!

  • This is a movie that hates the audience and expects them to furiously hate it back.

If you have seen the previous movies, there is no reason why you should miss the end. You can watch it for the superb action sequences and some crazy zombie gore.

Overall, nothing matters in this film since it a snooze fest. Even the fans of the series would agree.

  • It’s all as expected – the gimmicky scares that are so predictable that you can set your watch to them, the slickly choreographed action that befits the movie’s video game origins and the strictly-business acting by one and all. The futility of the enterprise is evident from the ease with which Alice overcomes every obstacle thrown her way.
