Riddick is hampered by portentuous dialogue but the creature design is imaginative and the lone female in the cast is eminently camera-friendly!

Riddick solely relies on the bald & beefy Diesel’s macho appearance and deep-raspy voice. No effort has gone into penning a substantial screenplay or making the visual effects look better. Dark visuals of barren, lifeless planet fail to create the desired impact. Nothing really instills fear.

  • If you can take an overdose of violence without much logic, this is your film.

The problem with making sequels is that it should also appeal to people who haven’t sent the previous films and unfortunately Riddick doesn’t score too many points there. This one is meant for die hard sci-fi fans.

  • ‘Riddick’ works when it isn’t trying to be like the first film or isn’t dabbling in misogyny. The action is fun, and the raw gritty hard science fiction aspect of it is a nice change from flimsy fare like ‘Oblivion’
