    Film review

This is definitely one of those critic-proof films like Jawan and Animal last year. It keeps the undemanding viewer and hardcore fan entertained, and even in its inordinate length, largely maintains a sufficient interest level to make other viewers keep hoping for something fresh to come up—until the end.

The deliberation and efforts that have gone into The Greatest of All Time are immense for an under-written masala entertainer. On the other hand, the film is terribly underwritten with no real substance to make up for its three-hour runtime.
  3. Ottplay

    Film review ·

The GOAT is a film that warrants a theatre watch given you go in as a fan expecting less to chew and more to celebrate, but it lacks cohesive storytelling and is a tribute of all sorts without a clear narrative spine.
  4. Deccan Herald

    Film review ·

The Greatest of All Time’aka Vijay’s The GOAT is nothing but passable and boring. Venkat Prabhu who has consistently entertained the audience with funny storylines and quirky twists in his previous films, hits the wrong balls in this pointlessly cricket-themed entertainer.

GOAT is mostly a failed attempt at mimicry, disguise, and de-ageing. Unless you want to waste your money on overpriced popcorn at a multiplex, I would recommend that non-Vijay fans save their money and wait for the film to drop on Netflix instead.
  6. Sakshi Post

    Film review ·

Because of its weak action scenes and mediocre villain, "GOAT" may appear to audiences from other states as an ordinary to above-average entertainer. Nevertheless, because of Vijay's magnetism and a comparatively stronger second half, the movie manages to give a distinct kind of public entertainment.
