K.T. Balasubramaniem is a well-known cinematographer from Karaikudi, Tamil Nadu who completed schooling and college in Thirupattur Under the tutelage of P.C. Sreeram for nearly 5 years, he worked in award-winning films such as' Thevar Magan', 'Thiruda Thiruda' and 'Kuruthipunal' . His dedication and passion for cinematography drew the attention of Padmashri Kamal Haasan, who gave him the opportunity to work as Director of Photography in home production Ladies Only . He is noticed for the cinematography in his Debut film, Vaatakudi Eranian, a historical film set in Pre -Independence era. Later, his work in director Bala's award-winning film Pithamagan earned him high praise and much critical acclaim.
