• …this is masala cinema at its best, and so the film is the best option for a leave-your-brains-at-home kind of experience. Also, it’s definitely not boring. Srinu, however, disappoints, failing the bar he created with films like Aagadu and Dookudu.

  • The beauty of the story and the idea behind the film, however, outweigh its flaws and so we’d suggest you watch the film. It is a wholesome entertainer that also teaches you a lot about the history of the Telugu country and its people.

  • The film is not family-friendly, we should warn you. It should have been, considering only children might be overwhelmed and excited by Puli. Instead, it has a vulgar comedy track that runs almost right through that obsesses about sex and first nights. There is something terribly wrong with a script that has to resort to male genitalia jokes around bananas.

Do we really need to say more?

  • We Are Your Friends replicates the sensory experience of attending a rave or a music festival, with all the implied good vibes and the spirit of ‘connected-ness’. The fantastic cinematography and slick editing gives us blasts of trippy party scenes, while Zac Efron gives us an understated, yet magnetic protagonist.

  • The continuous comedy track which is the crux of the storyline, some amazing music and equally hilarious performances by some of the smaller characters. This is a feel good rom-com Telugu style.

  • The Path of Zarathustra is a simple, well-meaning film with a message. It features noteworthy performances, cinematography and music. It is the perfect film for anyone who wants to gain some insights into religion and its true meaning.

  • Welcome Back doesn’t disappoint. The film has all the dialogue-baazi, fight sequences, and chaos to keep you entertained. Also, watch this film for some excellent performances by Nana Patekar, Anil Kapoor, and Paresh Rawal.

  • Ricki and The Flash is an unexpected combination of humor and emotions. Fans of Meryl Streep will enjoy her newest avatar, her chemistry with her daughter and her incredible musical performances. A must-watch, if only to hear her sing Lady Gaga.

  • Watch this with your kids over the weekend for the goofy antics of Shaun and his crew. They will love it! Crisp and genuine, Shaun The Sheep is a sweet film, and quite unlike the usual animation comedies we get these days.

  • This bitter-sweet take on the extremely complex and often difficult father-son relationship is very relatable. Sethupathi and Thilak communicate volumes with their silences and by the end, you’re as invested in their relationship as they are. This was Ramesh Thilak’s first lead role, but it certainly won’t be his last.
