The Founder

2017 · BookMyShow · Jan 2017

Ok Jaanu

2017 · BookMyShow · Jan 2017

The film starts on a slow note and might not pique much interest but soon picks up the pace. For people who've watched the original, they might find the film be a good attempt to remake the original. For people who've not seen the original, the film is not the best of love stories out there but the leads make it worth the watch.

Haraamkhor

Haraamkhor

2017 · BookMyShow · Jan 2017

For once, don't watch a movie for the actor playing it. Give this film a try, and you will be awed by the performances of the young stars. The story is dark, the ending is not happy, but the journey is highly entertaining as well as educating about an issue that is not often spoken about.

Passengers

Passengers

2017 · BookMyShow · Jan 2017

It's a film made to appeal to the masses rather than to impress the jury at award functions. Staying true to its intention, Passengers looks stunning throughout. It is one of the best sci-fi films to release after Arrival and the effort put behind the special effects is clearly visible on the screen.

A Monster Calls

A Monster Calls

2017 · BookMyShow · Jan 2017

Dangal

Dangal

2016 · BookMyShow · Dec 2016

Rarely does a Hindi film come along that is pleasing on every front – from performances to script to music. And contrary to what people may think, this is not a lecture on women empowerment. It is a film that is entertaining as it is enlightening, and definitely one the whole family can and should watch.

Collateral Beauty

Collateral Beauty

2016 · BookMyShow · Dec 2016

...the story of the movie is different than most "Christmas" movies. The film is crisp and tries to be earnest. It does its best to make you "feel" things. However, underplaying the emotions a little may have gotten better results. The background score of the movies is fitting and the chemistry between the characters is something you can appreciate.

Befikre

Befikre

2016 · BookMyShow · Dec 2016

If you are a fan of the franchise, this movie will be a nostalgia ride with something new added in the mix. A good vampire vs sort-of-werewolves fight is something you should never miss.

Kahaani 2

Kahaani 2

2016 · BookMyShow · Dec 2016

While many Bollywood sequels do not work for numerous reasons, Sujoy Ghosh should be given credit for taking his time and coming up with a solid script rather than dishing out a sub-par film. Unfortunately, he set the bar too high with Kahaani and that is the only reason why the second part isn't as thrilling. This doesn't mean you shouldn't watch the movie at the cinemas. Vidya Balan's riveting performance and the dark, taut first half is enough reason for you to book your tickets for Kahaani 2 now.

Moana

Moana

Tum Bin 2

Tum Bin 2

2016 · BookMyShow · Nov 2016

Despite its exotic locations, charming cast and soulful music, the film lacks a certain depth to keep it afloat. The story gets too slow and stretchy at times but it will no doubt tug at your heartstrings. While the script is another major let-down, the film is shot beautifully and is visually stunning.

Force 2

Force 2

Ae Dil Hai Mushkil

Ae Dil Hai Mushkil

2016 · BookMyShow · Oct 2016

Ae Dil Hai Mushkil is a typical Dharma film as it has a bit of Kuch Kuch Hota Hai, Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani, and Kal Ho Na Ho. The film stars good-looking actors, who are in prime form; has a musical score that'll be on your playlist for a while, and an unconventional love story that will touch your heart. Ae Dil Hai Mushkil isn't Karan Johar's best film but is good enough to keep you entertained for 2 hours 38 minutes.

Saat Uchakkey

Saat Uchakkey

2016 · BookMyShow · Oct 2016

Despite loopholes in the script, what manages to keep the audience engaged is undoubtedly the spontaneity with which the three actors – Manoj Bajpayee, Kay Kay Menon and Vijay Raaz – deliver their dialogues. The well-thought-out punchlines seem to work for the most of the time, if not always. They do exactly what you think they should – they make you laugh.

Inferno

Inferno

2016 · BookMyShow · Oct 2016

The film leaves you with many 'ifs & buts'. If only the story and screenplay were richer. If only the characters were more three-dimensional. If only the last two films hadn't set such a high standard. But that was not to be.

Mirzya

Mirzya

2016 · BookMyShow · Oct 2016

Mirzya is not for everyone. It's a slow, musical drama that will only be appreciated by fans of Sanjay Leela Bhansali's films. Forgive Rakeysh Omprakash Mehra's overindulgence, and go watch it for the newcomers, who make a fantastic first impression.

Baar Baar Dekho

Baar Baar Dekho

2016 · BookMyShow · Sep 2016

While the script may be uninspired, this is not to say that Baar Baar Dekho has nothing to celebrate. The film is equipped with futuristic qualities (without being bizarre), picturesque locations and great music. Plus, it manages to convey what it set out to put across, that one should focus on the smaller details in life.

Sully

Sully

2016 · BookMyShow · Sep 2016

While the movie may not resonate with the Indian audience as the events are based in the US, the team effort that rescued every single passenger on the doomed flight, makes this movie worth a watch. What could have been a disaster was averted with sheer presence of mind and timely efficiency. We Indians could learn a thing or two from that.

Freaky Ali

Freaky Ali

From his facial expressiosn to his demeanor, his portrayal of all his roles in is on point. And with Freaky Ali he has proven that he can definitely play all kinds of comical and romantic roles. War Dogs

War Dogs

2016 · BookMyShow · Aug 2016

This is one of those films that you watch for light humor but then in the end you are struck with a hard reality that makes you question the workings of the government and the morals of opportunists like Efraim. Jonah Hill has perfectly played the role of Efraim. From his Scarface references to his odd laugh, everything is spot on. Miles Teller has also upped his game in this one. Bradley Cooper's is a short role but effective enough.

Happy Bhag Jayegi

Happy Bhag Jayegi

2016 · BookMyShow · Aug 2016

It entertains abundantly in the first half, but sadly the second half doesn't quite manage to maintain the same pace and seems to fizzle out. The film has some great laugh-out-loud scenes that have been intelligently written, devoid of any slapstick humor.

Jason Bourne

2016 · BookMyShow · Aug 2016

While the movie is not as hard-hitting as its prequel, there's plenty of action, and a lot of destruction, to keep the audience engaged. M Cream

M Cream

2016 · BookMyShow · Jul 2016

While the film is quite predictable, it still manages to be just about interesting enough and the pace is well balanced, too. At times some scenes might feel pointless and boring. The film has certainly done well to change the opinions of foreigners about India, owing to its genuine portrayals of the country's youth. Perhaps the best aspect of the film is that it's a visual treat, with all its scenic shots of the Himalayas. These are only accentuated by good cinematography.

Lights Out

The Legend of Tarzan

The Legend of Tarzan

2016 · BookMyShow · Jul 2016

The movie takes you to the core of the jungle and gives you the taste of the wild. However, you may feel that the visual effects and the action sequences could have been better, as they don't give you that adrenaline rush you would expect while watching an adventurous movie. Yates has also neatly timed Tarzan's and Jane's flashbacks that give you a glimpse of the original story, which creates the foundation of this story.

Shorgul

Shorgul

2016 · BookMyShow · Jul 2016

The movie fails to make you develop an emotional connect with the central characters but what keeps it going are the spotless performances by Ashutosh and Jimmy. Besides, the movie gives you a slight peek into the Muzaffarnagar riots and how fanatics like these still exist in our country. It also shows how politics and religion are two major forces in India, which when mixed and used wrongly can result in major chaos and unrest. Watch this if such movies are your cup of tea.

Now You See Me 2

2016 · BookMyShow · Jun 2016

Warcraft

Warcraft

2016 · BookMyShow · Jun 2016

Most of the scene transitions are off. This ends up affecting the narration, which already had nothing to boast about with its mediocre plot. 2016 · BookMyShow · May 2016

It's an inspiring tale with exceptionally natural performances delivered by all the actors, making it seem realistic. Watch it for the crisp narration and the background score, done by A. R Rahman, which is so perfectly timed and is an added benefit to the film. All this and more makes this movie a must watch!

1920 London

1920 London

2016 · BookMyShow · May 2016

The third installment  of the 1920 series brings to you a lot of unexpected twists. Sharman's acting in the movie makes up for a lot of bad things. The music and the location actually do make you believe it is London in the 20s and of course, the debut of the third Chopra sister in the Bollywood industry shouldn't be missed!

Baaghi

Baaghi

2016 · BookMyShow · May 2016

Although, the film barely has anything new to offer and the plot is somewhere lost as the film transitions from one scene to another, the performances of the lead actors seem to make up for it. Another highlight of the film is undoubtedly its music, which help in facilitating an emotional immersion.

10 Cloverfield Lane

10 Cloverfield Lane

2016 · BookMyShow · Apr 2016

...the movie does teach a lesson, which is that monsters come in many forms. Goodman delivers a brilliant performance, playing his good guy/bad guy part perfectly. While the story revolves around the character of Winstead, it is Stambler who steals the show, mainly due to his impulsive characterization and shifty intentions. Even with minimal set and visual effects, the movie captures a lot more than most other films of the same genre.

The Man Who Knew Infinity

The Man Who Knew Infinity

2016 · BookMyShow · Apr 2016

Although the storyline is decent, it could have been told much better, giving us more insight into his struggles in London. The film fails to leave a lasting impression. Dev Patel tries hard but isn't convincing enough as Ramanujan. We do not get the opportunity to feel for him, when he's been beaten up or when he's diagnosed with advanced tuberculosis, yet persists in writing his proofs. Jeremy Irons outshines Dev Patel, with his genuineness.

Laal Rang

Laal Rang

2016 · BookMyShow · Apr 2016

Despite its well-portrayed rustic setting, the film fails to intensify with its plot. The simplistic story is not gripping enough, although it does offer a heart-warming climax.

Love Games

The Divergent Series: Allegiant

The Divergent Series: Allegiant

2016 · BookMyShow · Apr 2016

The newly approached narrative definitely makes the story more interesting than the original. However, the lack of direction subdues the impact the movie could have had on non-Divergent fans. For those who liked the book, the movie is an equally good watch.

Norm of the North

Norm of the North

2016 · BookMyShow · Mar 2016

In this age of animated films that could swoon you off your feet, Norm of the North is leaves a lot to be desired in the animation department. Though the dancing and twerking Polar Bear and a trio of cute lemmings farting and tinkling in an aquarium is funny, animated movies need more and Norm of the north just doesn't do justice to this more.

Eye in the Sky

Eye in the Sky

2016 · BookMyShow · Mar 2016

Apart from being different from other war films, Eye In The Sky is an illustration of world issues and warfare backed by performances that are top notch! Plus, it is Alan Rickman's last screen appearance, and one worthy of that mark.

Bus 657

Bus 657

2016 · BookMyShow · Mar 2016

The film has made a good attempt to make a mark as a fast-paced suspense film that keeps the audience fixated but its dissonant plot is leaves you wanting more. The praiseworthy acting by the star cast coupled with the high intensity action scenes make the film a fun one-time watch.

Race

Race

Teraa Surroor

Teraa Surroor

2016 · BookMyShow · Mar 2016

Reshammiya is definitely in his best shape yes, in this film with a ripped six-pack. While the performances of the leads could have been better, the film shines with its music, something which is undoubtedly Reshammiya's strong suit and the songs are worth a listen. The glass shattering and bullet swooshing actions scenes coupled with Raghu's badass moves keep you hooked to your seat.

45 Years

45 Years

2016 · BookMyShow · Mar 2016

A beautifully portrayed romantic drama, the movie broods on the insecurity struggles of a couple, 45 years into their marriage. The brilliant performances by the lead actors and the emotional baggage of the story make it worth a watch, especially for romance lovers.

Zubaan

Zubaan

2016 · BookMyShow · Mar 2016

If you want to see some good acting, you should definitely go for this movie. The story of this movie is very straightforward but it has been told in a creative way. The director has managed to add some good twists to the plot, that will keep you engaged throughout the movie.

Gods of Egypt

Gods of Egypt

2016 · BookMyShow · Feb 2016

Watch Gods of Egypt to witness the notions of an infallible, omnipotent God being destroyed. Watch it for the beauty and grace of Hathor. Watch it for the disarming diatribe between Horus and Bek, and the transformation of their disdain into friendship. But most of all, watch it to bring back the cynic in you, from the dark side, into the light.

The Revenant

The Revenant

2016 · BookMyShow · Feb 2016

Watch it for Leonardo DiCaprio's phenomenal performance. Rumor has it that the vegetarian actor actually ate raw bison meat for this film! The Academy Awards love characters like this that elicit sympathy, and Leo is the likeliest choice for the Oscar. The movie deserves a watch for Iñárritu's direction and the cinematography, too.

Direct Ishq

Direct Ishq

2016 · BookMyShow · Feb 2016

Direct Ishq did provide inane entertainment , but failed to live up to the expectations of the audience. But if you're a Bollywood entertainment lover, Direct Ishq may just be the thing you're looking for.

How to Be Single

2016 · BookMyShow · Feb 2016

Not only are the characters well-written, they are relatable. You can get caught up in the feels-good-to-be-single spirit, and find yourself wanting to dance in the 'no drama' party scenes! This chick flick puts a smile on your face while making you "good at being alone".

Sanam Re

Sanam Re

2016 · BookMyShow · Feb 2016

In its entirety, Sanam Re is a good attempt, but loses a lot owing to slip-shod implementation, feeble stabs at humor and a slew of platitudes and avoidable caricaturish characters.

The Choice

The Choice

2016 · BookMyShow · Feb 2016

A little unrealistic in its category, this movie may be predictable, but it will not bore you. You'll enjoy director Ross Katz's choice of locations, and the subtle music in the background which enhances the theme of the story.

Sanam Teri Kasam

Sanam Teri Kasam

2016 · BookMyShow · Feb 2016

With a run time of 155 minutes, a substantial measure of the first half is spent on the lives of these two individuals before they meet and what comes about when their paths eventually converge. Not only is the narrative a typical love story, it also reinforces discarded gender stereotypes. Though it has nothing new to offer, the film offers respite at an interesting point- an unanswered question.

The Boy

The Boy

Jugni

Jugni

The score of the film is well-composed by James Horner, and it perfectly underscored the emotion in almost every scene of the film.

Our Brand Is Crisis

Our Brand Is Crisis

2016 · BookMyShow · Jan 2016

Silver Linings Playbook

Silver Linings Playbook

2012 · BookMyShow · Nov 2015

The first two-thirds of the film, the "getting to know each other" scenes of Cooper and Lawrence with the funny take on their mental conditions – just love it! But then the film turns into a drab predictable mushy rom-com. All of a sudden you feel you're watching a different film with different characters even though it's the same set of actors. A clichéd ending, yes seems like all mental illnesses can be cured by a big dance number. Quite trite, Russel takes the easy way out.

Bruce Lee - The Fighter

2015 · BookMyShow · Oct 2015

...this is masala cinema at its best, and so the film is the best option for a leave-your-brains-at-home kind of experience. Also, it's definitely not boring. Srinu, however, disappoints, failing the bar he created with films like Aagadu and Dookudu.

Rudhramadevi

Rudhramadevi

2015 · BookMyShow · Oct 2015

Puli

Puli

2015 · BookMyShow · Oct 2015

The film is not family-friendly, we should warn you. It should have been, considering only children might be overwhelmed and excited by Puli. Instead, it has a vulgar comedy track that runs almost right through that obsesses about sex and first nights. There is something terribly wrong with a script that has to resort to male genitalia jokes around bananas. Do we really need to say more?

Maggie

2015 · BookMyShow · May 2015

Even though Maggie has been wrongly categorized as thriller or horror, it has pulled off drama better than any other film. The void that is formed due to the lack of action is efficiently filled by the emotional music and the few but powerfully delivered dialogues. Apart from a few flaws, the film is a unique display of life, love and loss set in the backdrop of a 'necroambulishm' (We're too scared to use the Z word) infected town. Grab a bucket of popcorn and take those tissues not to hide your face in, but to wipe your tears.

2014 · BookMyShow · Sep 2014

If you need to spend some quality time with your family at the movies, then Loukyam is a good choice. It isn't a film that has become a canvas for star power to throw its weight about, but focuses on keeping its audience entertained.

If you like Rannvijay, then please do not watch 3 A.M.. You would not want to see him in this movie. As said earlier, this film could have been a good spoof. If you are looking for a horror movie, then this is not it. Comedy? Absolutely.

Go to Power if you love Ravi Teja's films. Otherwise, the screenplay is just a new twist on every old turn in his earlier masala flicks. If you love Brahmanandam you will enjoy this movie, especially its surprise element.

The way the whole thing turns around in the climax is smart. You'll really love the way the film ends. It is worth a watch. Simha should make hay, 'cause the sun is shining.

Navdip Singh does justice to his role and his character development from a village simpleton who does not realize his potential to a winning athlete is worth a shot. The couple's little romantic exchanges and muffled speeches while trying to talk to each other do not fail to touch hearts.

Koyelaanchal

The story depicts the fact that sometimes it is not power that wins battles. Battles might also be won by tenderness of a mother's love and helpless cries of a child. An underlying principle that thus runs throughout the story, this is a formula that shall never fail to touch hearts.

Nagraj Manjule makes a film with honesty and that is what the global audience connects to. Fandry, which is often misunderstood to be the main lead's character name is justified in the film. Symbolic representations have always been appreciated in cinema. And the title of this film does something similar.

Darr @The Mall

2014 · BookMyShow · Feb 2014

The movie has its moments that trick you into believing it's going to get better any second. But that tends not to happen, and you're left wondering what went wrong. However, it does get better towards the end. Unfortunately, these plot resolutions aren't enough to make the viewer ignore the continuity errors or the script's lack of originality.

True to the original, the sequel is a dangerous representation of the greedy game that is the battleground of North Indian politics. Played as much with bullets as it is with shrewdness and cunning.
