• It doesn’t matter if you follow cricket or not as Mahendra Singh Dhoni’s journey is inspiring, to say the least. The man comes from a humble background and defied all odds to etch his name in the history of Indian cricket. You’ll also get to relive the two World Cup wins under Dhoni’s captaincy- those moments will definitely make you chant ‘India, India’ once again. And you won’t be alone!

  • Banjo is a feel-good film with great music and performances. Riteish Deshmukh is more than paisa-wasool.

  • In spite of its flaws, Parched manages to win your heart. It’s not the typical run-of-the-mill Bollywood movie. The exchanges between the leading ladies will make you smile. It’s also great to see how women from the village break free to live life on their own terms. Bollywood movies could easily do with more characters like Rani and Lajjo.

  • If you are tired of seeing Chulbul Pandey, Singham, and other alpha-male characters on screen, go meet Akira at the cinemas. She’s feisty, strong-headed, yet lovable. This is easily Sonakshi Sinha’s best work after Lootera and the film is a must-watch, during this long weekend.

  • Knowing that the whole story is just Google search away, the writers introduce subplots to keep things interesting. Until the last 20 minutes of the film, you’re as clueless as the jury members, who can’t figure out whether the accused is guilty or not.

  • The Legend of Michael Mishra is not for everyone. If you loved Bollywood films that released two decades ago, you’d probably like the movie. Otherwise, the two Hollywood releases, Jason Bourne and Suicide Squad are far more entertaining.

  • Madaari was made with the noble intention of showcasing why the public needs to fight against the corrupt system. But somewhere, it gets lost in trying to be a suspense thriller. It’s not as good as Kamat’s Mumbai Meri Jaan or Drishyam, but is still the best Hindi film to watch this weekend.

  • Dhanak proves that you don’t need to have an A-list star, shoot in foreign locations or spend huge amounts of money to make a good movie. In the recent past, there have been very few Bollywood movies that made you leave the theatre with a smile. Dhanak manages to do so and that’s a good enough reason for you to watch it this weekend.

  • There is very little to appreciate in Traffic. However, if you are a fan of over-the-top thrillers, this one may appeal to you.

  • Nil Battey Sannata is a wonderful film that will appeal to all. Chanda and Apeksha will win your heart with their inspiring story. At the end of the movie, you’ll want to go home and give your mother a hug!
