• The film is clichéd and a done to death love story laced with an over ambitious protagonist.
It’s like one of those beauties who you see at high society parties but once you hear them talk, you feel like “What the F….”
Watch it for the experience and the performances.

  • So if you are okay with the same ole Gujju chatter and are a Sunny Leone fan, go for this one, otherwise we suggest just download the songs and set off for a long drive this weekend.

  • There are more hits than misses that the film sees, however, if you are expecting it to break records like the iconic Hindi film villain ‘Gabbar’ did, think again. Go for this one for Akshay and the dialogues that he mouths, one of them being, ‘System bachchon ke diaper jaisa ho gaya hai…kahin se gila aur kahin se dheela’.

  • Technically, the film is not bad but it fails on the content and execution level. We would say book your tickets for Avengers this weekend and if you have free time during the week, go watch ‘Jai Ho Democracy’ or rather, don’t bother.

  • This film is far away from a ‘labour of love’ and is not worth your time. We are going for two stars for this one and would suggest that you should avoided it provided you are a big Emraan Hashmi fan.

  • Yes, the film does burst quite a few religious myths that prevail in our society, but that alone does not make it an engaging one. We would not say that the film is avoidable as there is a message on blind faith that needs to be hammered in our heads, but as far as we see it as a commercial film, we would say that there was a little more effort required on the part of the director.

  • Watching the film only for Leone and its imagery sure makes sense, but if you are also expecting a logical story and an engaging screenplay, you are definitely in the wrong screen. We would go for two stars for this one, more so for its visual appeal.
