In all, ‘Katham Katham’ is an intelligent cop story with a tint of realism, running on enjoyable fiction. With advisable discretion to viewership on certain regards, ‘Katham Katham’ is a light movie to chill out on.

Mixing the grittiness of Kelly Reilly starrer ‘Eden Lake’ (2008) with the junk of Khap and the spunk of women power , Anushka Sharma’s debut as producer ’NH10’ is jaw dropping but unoriginal mess of impulsive and peculiar film-making.

Ab Tak Chappan 2 is such a bad news. Director Aejaz Gulab and writer Nilesh Girkar commit a heinous triple crime of screwing two movies at one go and in the process screw a remarkably earnest and honest effort of an actor like Nana Patekar go waste by making such a sequel to Shimit Amin’s cult crime epic.

‘Lingaa’ is a clean masala with barely anything to snip off in censorship. It has a racy screenplay to justify the story that preaches unity, integrity, honesty, humility, and generosity, all for the goodwill of people. Introduction of the thought that people should not be biassed based on caste, is an intelligent move. However, certain patches do stand out as sore thumb that are in dire need of finesse – like dialogues for everyone other than Rajini, action, choreography, and graphics, especially in climax. In all, the film looks like it is made for Rajinikanth, to make him the hero of all times, but fails to meet expectations as a movie on the whole.

An entertainer with some unpredictable and witty moments.

Zed Plus isn’t a bad film and it’s a light hearted move over the off repeated b-town regular potboilers but we expected some depth and cinematic statement from the talented Chandra Prakash Dwivedi’s comeback after the brilliant ‘Pinjar’.

All said, ‘Appuchi Gramam’ looks like the first ep towards opening our eyes to scientific fiction. With a mind open to more masala than sidelined science and keen eyes to keep track of an example section of the entire village, you can encourage and laude Anand for his attempt.

Although the film on the whole is a good package, some pieces so stand out in contrast. The emotional sequence of Abhimanyu’s marriage is rather unrealistic. Taking to social media, and it being that a quick success all seems like a tall story for practical purposes. It is understandable that the film is a multilingual, but lack of original dialogues makes the film seem like a dubbed movie from a Hindi film and Telugu film, combined. Ignore these and other minor hitches, the movie has a healthy message.

Rekha is eternal in her role. She shines as a true diva but unfortunately her timeless charm is lost in this unimaginative worn-out movie that could have being easily avoided by her.

The makers should have planned something inspiring like Sridevi’s comeback vehicle ‘English Vinglish’ to do justice to Rekha’s divine talent.

‘Poojai’ is a mix of a lot of genres, but they seem disproportionate for the times and taste of this day. However, it is an entertaining three hours of festivity, to chill out on. Most importantly, thanks to Hari for a thoroughbred masala movie after a long time in Kollywood.
