Komal Nahta's Film Reviews
-
On the whole, Ladies Vs Ricky Bahl is a fair entertainer which will fetch returns for the producers and the distributors. It neither charms greatly nor cons the audience because it has its highs and lows. Around 60-70 per cent of the total investment of approximately Rs. 25 crore would come from non-theatrical sources like satellite, audio and video.

On the whole, The Dirty Picture is a lovely picture. It will work wonders at the box-office and work in both, multiplexes as well as single-screen cinemas. Its dialogues, music, performances and mature handling are its biggest plus points. A sureshot hit! For the genre of film it is, The Dirty Picture will write box-office history!!
-
On the whole, Desi Boyz is an enjoyable entertainer which will keep its producers, distributors and exhibitors happy. Its business in the bigger cities will be better.
-
On the whole, Shakal Pe Mat Ja is a poor show from start to finish and will meet with a disastrous fate.
-
On the whole, Rockstar will be loved by one section of the audience – mainly the youth in the multiplexes of the big cities. But there will also be a section – mainly the single-screen audience, masses and small-centre audience – which will find the drama dark and depressing. Given the film’s high cost on the one hand (around Rs. 60-62 crore) and its lovely start on the other, crossing the average mark shouldn’t be a problem.
-
On the whole, Miley Naa Miley Hum lacks the merits to work at the box-office. It will flop at the ticket windows.
-
On the whole, Loot is a poor fare and will fare poorly at the box-office.
-
On the whole, Damadamm! Is a dull fare which won’t do well at the box-office.
-
On the whole, Tell Me O Kkhuda does not have the merits to make any mark at the box-office.

On the whole, Ra.One has the novelty factor and visual effects as its greatest plus points. It may be lagging in the other departments but these two – novelty and visual effects – will definitely see the high-budgeted film make profits for all concerned. Looking to the almost unprecedented hype and huge craze for the film and its grand opening, it will sail past its safety mark in the first week itself (after considering all the other sources of revenue too) and then go on to yield profits.
