In a nutshell, Beyond The Clouds may not count among Majid Majidi’s best works but it has got enough meat to chew upon. This time, his social criticism in the film doesn’t exactly reaches its peak. Still it grabs your attention with Ishaan Khatter’s fresh talent, Anil Mehta’s captivating visuals and the backdrop of ‘aamchi Mumbai’.

Watching this slow-paced film could be a laborious task for those who are not used to this brand of cinema. ‘And the night-blooming flowers open, the whole night exhales a scent that disappears in the wind. And then dawn: the petals close a little crumpled’- October tells the tale of different shade of love that says it all despite leaving behind some unspoken words.

Irrfan Khan’s Blackmail is a roller-coaster with its own set of ups and downs. A song in the film goes like ‘Bewafa Beauty, Haaye, Ishq Mein Cheating Kar Gayi! But director Abhinay Deo stays true to his words and delivers a film that’s high on quirky quotient and almost ticks off most of the check-boxes barring a few. If you are looking out for some ‘hatke’ black comedy then Blackmail is your comfort food.

In a nutshell, here comes a ‘feel-good’ film with a remarkable performance by Rani Mukerji. She gives you enough reasons to embrace this ‘hichki’ with a smile. There’s a dialogue in the film which goes like, ‘School ke bahar zindagi jab imtihaan leti hai tab subject wise nahi leti’. Hichki, as a whole passes this exam with flying colors!

Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s latest offering may be titled Padmaavat but it’s Ranveer Singh’s show all the way. He plunges deep into the sea of evilness to bring the ‘monster’ to life for ‘ek jung husn ke naam’. It may be a doomed love-story for him in the film but Ranveer, you are truly ‘Sultan-E-Hind’ when it comes to capturing our hearts with your bravura performance

Jagga Jasoos is a trip to the fantasyland but unfortunately, a bumpy one with Ranbir Kapoor saving the day for us! This one falls short of being ‘Tukka Laga Nishaane Pe’!

Mom is not just a revenge saga. It runs deeper than that and talks about a mother’s undying love.
The film reminded me of Agatha Christie’s famous words, “A mother’s love for her child is like nothing else in the world. It knows no law, no pity. It dares all things and crushes down remorsely all that stands in its path.”
In a nutshell, Mom is worth every penny for Sridevi- Nawazuddin’s stellar act and Ravi Udyawar’s brilliant execution! -
There’s a dialogue in the film which goes like- “Yakeen ek tubelight ki tarah hota hai…der se jalta hai…lekin jab jalta hai, toh full light kar deta hai.” The same holds true for Salman Khan’s Eid release Tubelight. It takes its own sweet time to flicker but then barely lasts to shine bright!
